Would you believe that I came up with this idea in my sleep? 
Well, I did and so now I intend on sharing this with you. The next sequel in this series is going to be completely different from what anyone--myself included--expected but I assure you that it will be a worthwhile entry. I'll still do the eventual Twilight Princess sequel that many have been asking for, but first, why not take a trip back in time to the very beginning. I'm not talking about the beginning of Hyrule but rather the beginning of the Legend of Zelda series; as in the first game. 
Rainbow Dash's love of this series results in her getting her hands on a digital version of the original game--the original console version might be deemed too uncool for her--and Sunset ends up going through the first game, yet this is where the true twist takes place. Sunset will be going through the game but she won't be portraying Link. Instead, she will be acting as an advisor from within the game world itself. Who will be portraying Link this time? I think you already know the answer to this one. 
Unlike the previous two stories, this one is much shorter because of how short the original game is compared to its sequels--I'm not going to feature the second quest as that would just be redundant--so consider it as a side-story even though it will continue on from where the previous one ended.
When will it begin? Probably before the month is over.

Given how the original Legend of Zelda started it all and had very little in terms of lore, I can technically get away with doing this as it's literally a clean slate only not. You need not worry though. Sunset will still be the main character when Twilight Princess comes along but I wanted to do something different by having her play the role of an adviser.
One thing that should be noted is that not all of the Links are descended from the one from Skyward Sword. It's implied that they are either directly descended from him or are somewhere in the bloodline. It can also be implied that the bloodline might have skipped some generations for reasons that have never been made known.

I've no intention of writing an MLP crossover with Skyward Sword as that's an undertaking that would be too complicated even for me. I'm sure someone else could do that but not me.

I'll be honest in saying that I've no confidence in myself for giving Skyward Sword the justice it deserves. Plus, I only ever went through the game once and aside from the dungeons and similar experiences, it was a pretty mundane journey mainly because of a lack of interaction with characters outside of Skyloft. It's locations were also a bit bare for my liking.

I know but I still felt it lacked in a lot of ways. At least Twilight Princess will give us plenty of characters for Sunset to interact with even during times where she and Midna (whoever will portray her) are on their own.
