Who's is main target of "Tails of Equestria"? · 9:44pm Jan 7th, 2018
I have trouble to understand who's supposed to be a main target auditory of ToE. I rather doubt that main auditory of MLP (you know, little girls) would play pen and paper RPG (although maybe I'm wrong here). At the same time, it's a liiiiittle too simple for bronies. For example ponies, all other races and monsters only have three stats - body, mind and charm. A pool of possible talents is small. Amount of available spells are minuscule (they are parts of talents). Bestiary is also small and pathetic. All in all, it's look likes a dumbed down D20. In my opinion, Ponyfinder is objectively better in all aspects.
So it looks like that Hasbro released it just for the sake of releasing it. Like "Oh! We also have (a generic and bland) ponies RPG"!
PS. Another strange thing. I'm pretty sure that Hasbro owns Wizards of the Coast. So why exactly they hire third-party company for this? I'm pretty sure that WotC can do a waaaaaay better job of creating pony RPG that River Horse.
