-sigh- While it's true that I'm still a HUGE Sunset Shimmer Fan Boy, I still can't help but also show some loving support and respect for Starlight Glimmer.
Now I know what y'all are thinking, but I just have to do it in order to defend Starlight Glimmer. Because of course nowadays since Season 7 was finished two months ago Starlight Glimmer has gotten a lot more love, but there are STILL some few Bronies and Pegasisters out there that still have their hatred on Starlight Glimmer. And sometimes..... it's hard to let that go by sometimes.
But anyways, I thought I would talk about it since I'm a Starlight Glimmer supporter in addition to me being a Sunset Shimmer Fan Boy.
Question of the Day: if Starlight Glimmer didn't have an Overhated Fanbase in the first place, what would happen?
More love for her probably more stories with her as main character or involve idk why people hate starlight because she’s at alicorn level of magic but their okay if flurry is an alicorn

I like both, but they aren't copies of each other. Sunset had to deal with the struggles of trying to get others to accept her after what she did, but she never really struggled with personally improving, she became a better person almost completely in an instant. Starlight was the complete opposite, 99% of ponies had no clue what she had done so they didn't have any real judgement against her from everyday ponies, the judgement was all in her own head, plus she didn't just become perfect overnight, she had to grow and move beyond her old habits even after her reformation.
They are both reformed villains, but they are reformed villains with two entirely different experiences with moving from villain to hero. Both are also super powerful unicorns, who may have both been far more powerful than Twilight as a unicorn (people seem to want to ascribe a lot more raw power to unicorn Twilight than she had, mad anyone actually gone back and looked at the spell list for Twilight before and after ascension? It is kind of laughable how little she was capable of as a unicorn).

Thank you, I got Ink Rose to draw her for me. If I were a pony I would 100% be a Thestral, I am just too much of a night owl not to be.
As for what would happen without all the hate for GlimGlam I couldn't begin to predict. I don't think the show writers would do much differently. I think it is notable that Starlight doesn't seem to be a character Hasbro pushes, you see very little merchandise, so she wasn't created as a "buy our toys" character. So maybe she would get some more merchandise love if she didn't have as much hate.

She does $20 commissions on and off on live stream on YouTube. You need a basic example of your OC and what you want it doing. She will make a good looking version of it. My example looked extremely amateur and I gave some instructions for adjustments for my pretty little Thestral (thin her up a bit, my drawing looked kind of pudgy) and asked her to draw her holding some yellow flowers. I loved the finished project. Just subscribe to her channel and keep a lookout for her commission streams.
