Xenoblade Chronicles 2 · 2:50am Dec 13th, 2017
So I just got finished watching the movie version of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which was pretty long itself even though I wasn't playing the game. For those of you who don't know it's a JRPG and a long one at that. The cut scenes alone are easily over 10 hours. If anyone is interested in a good story to pass the time, I'd recommend it. I just wanted to share a few thoughts on it and some other non-related tangents it's led me to.
The game has some great fan service of scantily clad woman, but that's the thing it starts and stops there. It's a bunch of good looking characters who strongly hint they are into their partners but never actually make a move beyond that. No kissing, no nudity, and obviously no sex. I usually dislike this sort of thing, as some of you may imagine. It's like being endlessly teased without it paying off in the end. If it were one of my fics, they probably would have ended up doing the deed within 5 minutes of meeting each other.
But at the same time, I have to wonder about the positives of such a method. Contrary to normal clopfics, I personally wouldn't like it if I had sex with a woman so easily within 5 minutes of meeting them. It feels to easy, that I didn't work for it, and that anyone else could do it, so likely she wouldn't be to faithful. With a more drawn out story where they slowly work at the romance until finally having sex... it would just be so much more special to the reader, no? The trick is to keep them interested in the story though while everyone isn't have sex.
Also, on a more urgent note... Are we all just ignoring the fact that a 500+ year old woman is going after a kid who's so obviously not over 18? But, I guess it's ok because she's hot and everything.
I'm off to go vote for Roy Moore.
Also I would have to say Brighid, and her driver, Morag are my favorite. Brighid herself seeming like a humanized version of Princess Luna. Just not so sure why she doesn't open her eyes.
