Help Maybe? · 12:15am Dec 6th, 2017
Not sure how many of you are still actively here. I know at least one of you is (hi Sphinx), but still, I figured I'd post this just in case some of you are still lurking out there somewhere.
As you may have noticed, I've been slacking on writing. Big. Time. A few of you have contacted me and I said I was getting it done, and then it still took forever. There are a few reasons for this, ranging from stress at home (which I won't get into), being exhausted from work, and busy with a few other things.
But the biggest reason is lacking motivation. I'm the type of pony that needs that pressure from a deadline, that threat of "If I don't get this done, I'm in trouble..." that comes when you're in school. When The Writer's Training Grounds stopped offering prompts every week for new episodes, I lost probably my second biggest motivation to write--the biggest one is notifications and comments, which I LOVE getting--and it's been hard to get it back. I liked having to pick an idea and forcing myself to come up with a short story within a week's time. Having that pressure, and the feeling of satisfaction I got when I made it in time, helped fuel the fire that made me want to work on my bigger stories.
So here's where my little army of followers comes in. I just got Season 6 on DVD. I'm going to start watching it tonight, maybe tomorrow. And I'd like you all to come up with ideas for each episode. I'll tell you which episode I just watched, and then you can all suggest a story idea you'd like to read based on that episode, just like the Training Grounds from before. I'll pick one idea, and the goal will be to write the story by the end of the week. That should help get me back into top form.
I'm open to writing almost anything, but if you want a story that's like a slasher--with blood and gore everywhere--or basically porn, I'm afraid I'll decline all of those. Not my type.
So anyway, if this sounds like fun, keep an eye out this weekend for the first post asking for ideas.
Sounds interesting. Let's see how this goes.
He's alive!
If you want, a friend and I can always send you increasingly ominous messages about what could happens to you if you don't keep on writing, slowly driving you crazy and, hopefully, keeping the pressure on so that you never stop!
Orrrrrr we could go with your suggestion. Either/or.
Hey, good to see you still around. This seems like a fantastic idea, can't believe I haven't seen this done anywhere else yet. Oh, I can't wait to see what comes out of all this. Until next time,
-Sphinx
Ps. Always there for you. You don't have to tell me what's going on or anything, I'm just willing to help in any way.
I've been missing your writing a whole lot, and if I can help in any way to get you back on track, I'll do it!
