    The Crystalling Story ideas

Okay I have just finished the first two episodes of season 6, The Crystalling. For those who might have a hard time remembering, the episodes were about Flurry Heart breaking the Crystal Heart, Starlight Glimmer trying to reunite with her old friend, and the Crystal Empire very quickly turning into a snowy wasteland.

    Help Maybe?

Not sure how many of you are still actively here. I know at least one of you is (hi Sphinx), but still, I figured I'd post this just in case some of you are still lurking out there somewhere.

    The Legion Grows

So it happened again. Cleared my little notification box, and for a few days, there was nothing. Then I logged in about two or three days ago, and I had one notification. This made me smile, as notifications feed my desire to be on this site. Logged in the following day, and it had jumped up to four. Now I log in and it's up to ten.

Can someone explain this weird pattern?

So, this is something that I've always wondered about. There's no science behind it, I'm sure--unless everypony is conspiring, in which case, wow--but it's something that seems to fall into a pattern.

    !!!

Tell me to write again. I've been slacking off and it's gotten to the point where it's depressing. Tell me to write again.

Can someone explain this weird pattern? · 5:15am Jul 24th, 2016

So, this is something that I've always wondered about. There's no science behind it, I'm sure--unless everypony is conspiring, in which case, wow--but it's something that seems to fall into a pattern.

I long on here pretty much every day, usually several times a day, because seeing that little red mark near the top of the screen for notifications makes me smile. Lets me know ponies are still enjoying my stuff. As such, I usually leave it for a few days, but then nothing happens. It stays at the same number--usually 1 to 3--for several days, sometimes over a week. So eventually, I click it and the red number goes away.
And then, within two or three days, a new random notification will pop up. Makes me smile, of course, but it just seems kind of odd. It's almost like I don't get new notifications until I remove the old ones. Anypony else seem to run across this, or am I just weird?

Are you talking the feed or notifications?

Notifications are cleared out after a certain amount of time, whether you click on them or not.

Read notifications are automatically purged after 2 days
Unread notifications are automatically purged after 1 week

That's the verbiage right there.

They system's weird, either way. At least you're getting views, right?

Can't say I have, though I doubt I get enough traffic for there to be a pattern to notice in the first place. Anyways, I guess that means you should just check your notifications as soon as they come up, then you'll have 2 more waiting for. Of course, this is only true if your pattern holds. Until next time,

4110919 I've often wondered if I should do that. "Hm...if I clear this now, does that mean I'll keep getting more and more?" It sure seems to fall into the "more often than not" field.

4109911 Not quite what I meant. I know they go away automatically after a set time, but I meant when I actively remove them and then new ones show up.

Example: I currently have two notifications, both regarding people who liked some stories. They're both 3 days old, and (besides the comments on this blog) I haven't received any more. If I leave them unclicked, I don't seem to get any more notifications. But as soon as I click them and my screen clears, then it seems like within two or three days I suddenly have a new notifications. It's as if ponies sit and wait until there's nothing before going, "Okay, now I'll add this story to my favorites."
