Where do I start? · 5:28pm Nov 29th, 2017
Okay, this won't be as involved an elaborated run-on as I did in my head. But, I just wanted to get you all up to date on what all has been going on with me. This is going to be a little tricky, but everything should make sense in the end.
First, the my new home is slowly coming along. I grateful for the patience and continued support from all of you. I'm pretty sure by spring my house should be a lot less boxes and more of a home. It's getting more presentable every week, thankfully. =D
Now for the big news. Okay, in the wake of my prepping to sell my old place and come and get settled into my new one, some major changes have been taking place for me writing-wise. Before anyone panics, I am not leaving FimFiction and I am not abandoning my projects on here. But, and this is a major point, their updating may be seriously delayed. Starting back in July, I started talking to my best friend at work about what I do on here and that I have aspirations to one day become an accomplished writer. We started chatting over breaks at work and then started having longer discussions over breakfast outside of work. He's really opened my eyes to a lot of things. He's introduced me to a whole new school of though regarding story arcs, character building and character arcs, as well as new mechanics for telling a more compelling tale.
I was thrilled to learn of these new techniques and options I never really considered in nearly as much depth before. My first thoughts were applying these to my pony stories here on FimFiction, but then my friend made me aware of something my mom had also been trying to get through to me. It may be fun writing MLP fanfics, but I'll never make a cent off of them seeing as they are based on intellectual property owned by Hasbro. Thus, he proposed I start coming up with something new and original, that way I can make it my own and have a chance to make money off of it. So, sometime in August an idea came to me and he and I have since started working on it. In short it's an idea for a new original fantasy series set in a more medieval world. For the past three months and ongoing even to this day, he and I have embarked on the task of extensive world and character building as well as determining a good starting place for the story. We've shaped a history and more. We've even done a lot of research into numerous topics to help further the idea and give it more of a foundation to stand on.
Now, you may be wondering what does this mean about my work here on FimFiction? Well, as I alluded to above, my projects on here will be significantly delayed. But after opening my eyes to so many ways to improve my writing, I'd love to give you all something new and even better, but I don't want to lose momentum on this new project we've embarked upon. And imagine, if I can make a go of this series, I can have a lot more time to return and work on my pony stories again. For now, I'll do what updating I can, when I can. At the very least I'll be doing a short story here and there if nothing else.
I hope this news doesn't come as a disappointment to any of you. But from looking back on some of my stories, I see where I made a lot of mistakes and just want to do my best. And this new project will allow me to do just that. Now, I'm hoping that since MLP is a lot like fantasy and in some ways even a little medieval at times, I hope you will follow me and keep an eye on my new project. I'm still determining the best social media outlet, other than facebook, to post samples of my new writing and new world as well as to share updates and news on progress. My buddy suggested that I open a Patreon page and in time open a Kickstarter page. I think the best starting place would be to make a new deviantArt account and post links for it here for now. Then in time as things progress, share links to any other social media avenues. And if I do start a Patreon, I'll offer some basic info for free and reasonable sponsor tiers with each one offering something fun. Same thing if I end up launching a kickstarter campaign. In the next week or so my friend and I will be getting together to hammer out some production goals and deadlines so we can keep the momentum alive. I can say one thing about this project, it's got a lot more planning to it than anything I've ever done before. And the techniques I've been taught have completely changed the way I think up new characters and events and even read or watch TV/ movies. I'm hopeful this new way of thinking will translate into my MLP work as I am able to make new content for my pony stories here on FimFiction. I am hoping to make a short story for the approaching holiday, but I need to gauge my free time against my project goals and there is still getting things settled here in my new home.
I hope you all will continue to support me and be able to wait just a little while longer while I try to see how I can apply these new techniques to my pony stories, in addition to this new proeject. I know I'd love to continue to have the support of such amazing people. I couldn't have made it this far in my writing without all of you. I will be keeping an eye on my page here and still hope to update some content from time to time.

Well... I should say I am a bit saddened, but you have always delivered on the goods and have never disappointed me. I am glad to see that you are branching out. I shall wait patiently for the cute and loving pony goodness.
Thank you for the update, i place a high value on transparency in general, glad to see your house is coming along, that cant be an easy task, glad to see your still alive as well. Is there a chance we get to read your project at some point or is it strictly something you will have to buy? i dont have a job right now so this really doesnt apply to me, the questions more of a curiosity and plus the concept sounds pretty cool. Hope you had a good holiday and new years, definitely looking forward to how your stories change as well.
Ultimately it will be something I'm looking to get published. But I am planning on offering little snippets or short stories that will help whet readers' appetites that will be available for free. As my project grows and social media outlets form and I can share links, I'll let everyone know when these little samples will be around and available.
