    Happy Holidays!

Whatever you're celebrating, and even if you're not celebrating anything, I hope you have a great day today.

Me? I'm going to spend the day either sleeping, or playing Season of Discovery in World of Warcraft Classic; I've got a guild to run now, after all, and I need to devote as much time as I can to keeping it going.

    Stay awesome.

    Hey Ho

First of all, today marks 11 years to the day since I joined Fimfiction. Go me, I guess?

Secondly, I'm still around, though I've been pretty busy as of late.

    Are you at Griffish Isles?

If so, then I hope you're having fun! For those of you who don't know what that is, here's their website.

I'm not at the convention myself, since I couldn't afford it this year, but I did take out an advert in the con book for my horse words. If you're here as a result of said ad, please let me know!

That's all for now, remember to stay awesome!

    In Case You've Missed It

I recently published a new story, the first one I've written for nearly two years. My Muse decided to pay me a visit, meaning I was able to whip this together; here's hoping said Muse sticks around for a while!

Q&A Round 25 - The Answers! · 11:12pm Nov 28th, 2017

Well, I'm a bit late with this, but I've been busy lately, so... yeah.

As always, questions are answered in the order in which they were received.

Trombone2015

What is the best way to get out of writer's block? I have one story already that is currently being edited, but I can't find the time or get any ideas together to write a new story.

Allow me to share with you some advice I got from The Abyss regarding this, as I had the same question myself some time ago.

Put simply, he told me to look at images on Derpibooru to see if any of them inspired me. I'm yet to actually do this, given my other commitments, but perhaps you might find it helpful?

HB_DS2013

1. Sweetie Belle, who taught you how to cook?

Sweetie Belle: Nopony really had the time to teach me, so I taught myself.
Rarity: (Under her breath) Yes, darling, and it shows.
Sweetie Belle: Huh?
Rarity: Nothing!

2. Fluttershy, what are your thoughts on turkeys?

Fluttershy: (giggles) I think they're quite adorable, and that the noises they make are quite amusing. Humans seem to really love them too; John showed me a picture of a place where thousands of turkeys live!
(John waves his arms frantically, trying to get your attention.)
John: Shhhhh! Don't tell her it was a farm!

3. Applejack, is cider the only alcoholic drink in Ponyville?

Applejack: It ain't the only one, sugarcube, but it seems to be the most popular.
John: Wait, there are other drinks out there?
Applejack: Sure are, hon.
Geo: Like what?
Applejack: Y'all remember where we went ta celebrate Ace and Pinkie gettin' engaged? (John and Geo nod.) Well, that's where yer gonna find cider, brandy, gin, vodka, whiskey, schnapps, tequila, and whatever else Berry can— hey!
(John and Geo run off in the direction of Berry's Bar, kicking up dust behind them.)

4. Twilight and Main Geo, what are your thoughts on salt?

Geo: It's good stuff.
Twilight: Indeed it is; it makes Geo's cooking almost palatable.
Geo: Oh, har har. Very funny, Little Miss Culinary Artiste, but need I remind you of what happened that time you tried making pancakes?
Twilight: They weren't that bad, Geo.
Geo: It was months ago, Twi, and I'm still using them as paperweights!

5. Rainbow Dash, why do you have a big head?

Rainbow Dash: Because it takes a big head to hold all the awesome I contain. (She grins smugly.) You were expecting me to get mad, weren't you? (She laughs.)

6. I'll bet Shining Armor might be able to survive two shots to the head. What about you, Cadence? Can YOU survive being shot in the head twice?

Cadence: For the last time, Shiny, I am not letting you try!
(Shining Armour holds a bunch of guns up.)
Shining: Please, Cady... it's for science!
Cadence: NO! Where did you even get those things, anyway?
Shining: Umm...
(Meanwhile, in Ace's lab...)
Ace: Hey, I've been robbed!

7. Pinkie Pie, why do you buy ALL the cider in cider season when it's supposed to be one mug for one pony?

Pinkie Pie: One mug per pony?! I thought the rule was one barrel!
Applejack: Well it ain't. Now give some of those back.
Pinkie: Nope. (She produces a funnel and pours all the cider down her throat.) Shoulda made it clearer, AJ!
Applejack: ...
(Behind her are several signs: 'ONE MUG PER PONY,' 'NO REFILLS' and 'THIS MEANS YOU, PINKIE PIE!'

8. Author Geo, what are your thoughts on Starlight Glimmer?

I used to dislike her, but she grew on me a lot during Season Six. Hell, she's now on my list of favourite ponies (which can be found on my userpage). Plus I like her interactions with Trixie (and ship it like Parcelforce).

I currently have no plans to use her in the Geoverse, but I hope this will change.

9. Princess Luna, did you know you have a legion of- no, a world of humans that love your night?

Luna: I was not aware of this. Thank you for letting me know.
Celestia: But, Luna, you don't control the night in their wor—
Luna: LET ME HAVE MY MOMENT!

10. Twilight, are there other teachers in Ponyville aside from Cheerilee?

Twilight: Do I count as a teacher?
Starlight: I guess you do, as it happens; you've been teaching me friendship lessons, after all.
Twilight: Other than that, I don't know of any other teachers besides Cheerilee. Besides, she does a good job, and we don't really need any more teachers for a small town like Ponyville.

OHHHHHH WEEEEE!!!!!

This little poopy pants has many questions to ask.

Hang on a sec, I'd better make sure Beth isn't hanging around...

Okay, we're good.

1.) When making the fan fiction geoverse, what was some concepts that didn’t make the final cut?

I generally don't plan Geoverse stories, to be honest; they're made up as I go along (a tactic that seems to work well for me, for whatever reason). However, there is one Geoverse story which has been stricken from the record of what is canon in the series. I am, of course, referring to... A Season Of Terror.

Oh, come on, it isn't that bad!

2.) Who is your favorite human character?

Geo. Then again, that could be a bit biased...

3.) Do u ever have plans on introducing a new villain character, if so will he be pony or human.

If I go ahead with the idea I have for the next instalment of the series, he'll be a human.

4.) Have u been asked to do crossover fanfics, if so who asked.

As far as I can remember, the few crossover stories I've done have been my own ideas.

Feel free to correct me on this.

5.) Any advice for first time writers.

1) Get an editor.
2) Learn to accept criticism.
3) Get your story into as many (relevant) groups as possible, for the best chance at more readers.
4) It's not all about getting into the featured box.
5) Save early, and save often. Having backups of your work can also help.

6.) Who’s your favorite pony?

Twilight Sparkle, without a doubt.

(It's surprising how often I get asked this.)

7.) Have you ever heard of dashie games? If not stop reading and look him up my dude.

Ahh, another LPer. Good; I've been looking for new LPers to watch.

8.) If u could add any character to your geoverse who would it be and why?

Iron Will.

Because he's muthaf:yay:in' Iron Will.

9.) What was the most complex character to write?

Now that my co-writer has quit, Ace has become the most complicated character to write.

I don't know the first thing about science, and Ace is a very sciencey guy.

10.) What was the best character arc to write and why?

Best character arc? Oooh, that's a tough one.

I honestly can't answer this.

LukeTheMercenary

What inspired you to begin writing the Geoverse series?

4chan.

Yes, seriously.

Shortly after I became a brony, in 2012, I was on 4chan's /mlp/ board when I came across the 'Anonymous in Equestria' (or AiE for short) thread. I read some of the stories there and found them to be quite entertaining, so I decided to have a go myself. And lo, To Friend Is Human was created.

That's right, folks; my very first story started out as an AiE on 4chan.

However, not long after publishing the first chapter, I discovered Fimfiction. Realising that TFIH might do better as a proper story, rather than greentext, I converted it from a second person AiE to a first person self-insert, then posted it here.

Suffice to say, that turned out to be the best idea I had that year.

That's it for this round of questions, folks. For my next one, I might answer them using the power that is... my dulcet Scottish tones!

Until the next time, stay awesome.

I really love your Q&A blogs, Geo. Even though you don't write as much as you used to, you still have time to make everypony faithful to their character. I'll admit, I didn't expect Rainbow Dash to be cool about her big head or that Main Geo uses Twilight's pancakes as paperweights, but it was all in good fun. I was half expecting Twilight to freak out about salt being considered something like meth and weed for ponies, though.
