Turn on computer, start doing homework, realize that the internet's down, curse Comcast and Ajit Pai, wait for internet to work again, continue doing homework.
Rinse and repeat indefinitely.
The first thing I'm gonna do once I'm done with college is move back to the small tech boom-town of Lehi where there's actual competition between ISPs that would at least leave lower prices and higher quality service than Comcast and their duopoly with Centurylink here in the next city over.
'Cause seriously. Lehi has amazing competition compared to where I'm currently living, and taking into consideration that the specific area I live in only has coverage by Comcast and Centurylink, just the competition alone is enough to make for decent speeds.
Currently with Cable internet from Comcast's Xfinity, I rarely get above 30-45Mbps even when paying for a throughput of up to and including 72Mbps. The internet drops literally every day, and pretty much everyone I know hates them.
Back in Lehi, when I had fiber service from Veracity, it was the same price as Comcast, but instead 100Mbps fiber-optic, with only a single outage that I remember ever encountering. Aside from the single outage, the only other hiccup I've ever had as far as connection quality went was a single time when my family tried switching to Vivint for a month, and then back to Veracity with deep regrets just because of the fact that Vivint at the time had horrid customer support.
TL;DR: I used to have Fiber internet at the same price of my crap cable connection.
Screw you, Comcast.
