    Fallout Review

It's been a while since I've done some reviews, so I figure I'm gonna review something that I've been getting into a lot as of late; Fallout! I have finally become integrated into the fandom, and I am happy for it, I've been in love with this series more and more as I get involved with it. I've gotten Fallout 4 in honor of the show (which I intend to review at some point after I finish it) and I

    Check In

    Afternoon/evening folks!

Sorry I haven't been checking in as often as I should; rest assured I'm not dead, I'm still here, just been silent as of late. Still working on fics, but also constantly debating with myself on what to focus on next, wanted to make some new stuff that isn't just Shattered or Star Wars. Wanna bring more folks in, do somethin' new.

    Top Ten Films/Series Of 2023/Reflections

First off, Happy New Year's Eve everyone!

Hard to believe another year has passed, hasn't it? *sighs* how time has flown by. A lot's happened this year; more stories, more creativity and entertainment has come, and I've learned more about myself, and I am very glad for that.

Spaceballs The Review · 8:42pm Nov 13th, 2017

Here's another review of a favorite movie of mine. This time, we're going into a recent territory. This movie I saw back in 2014, and I wish I saw it before. This is... one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. :pinkiehappy:

The genius behind it was simple, it was well executed, and it only pisses me off more that people nowadays don't think of movies like this when they think of parody. Instead they just think of all of those crappy movies by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, comedy killers... :twilightangry2:

But this is not what we're here for. We came to discuss something good. So without further ado, here is Spaceballs!

Spaceballs is a parody of the sci-fi genre, but is mostly a parody of Star Wars, and it is hilarious. The plot follows the evil Dark Helmet along with his Spaceball empire who attempt to kidnap Princess Vespa so they can get all the fresh air from Vespa's planet, Druidia. But with the help of Lone Starr and his sidekick Barf, the team is on their quest to save the galaxy from the evil Spaceballs!

What is it about this movie that works? Well, I think pretty much everything works, but lets go down one by one.

First thing is the story. This story isn't a rip-off of the original Star Wars. What makes this movie is its own plot, they aren't plagiarizing a plot from another movie like... that other film... But to the point, the story works. Its simple, fun, and there's a lot going on within it that's easy to follow and enjoy.

The characters are another plus. We've got a lot of spoofs of Star Wars characters, but they're enjoyable.

Lone Starr is an excellent stand in for a mix of Indiana Jones, Luke Skywalker, and even Han Solo. Barf is a great friend like Chewbacca, Princess Vespa's a downright entertaining princess for Leia, and Dot Matrix is a pretty funny droid standing in for C-3P0. Rick Moranis is another automatic plus for his role as Dark Helmet, aka, this movie's spoof of Darth Vader. To take the tall menacing Vader and replace him with a short man with glasses. That is pretty funny. Plus, Mel Brooks being able to play a parody of Yoda, and the president of Spaceballs is just hilarious.

The humor.

Oh my god this humor is hilarious! :pinkiehappy: They take scenarios or ideas that sound ridiculous and make it funny because they know it would be funny. The visualization of all of these gags is hilarious really. One of my favorite ones has to be the villains attempt to search for our heroes simply by watching their own movie, its sheer genius. :rainbowlaugh: Even the final fight between our protagonist and our antagonist is hilarious on its own.

Heck you know what, they don't just keep it to Star Wars parody, they threw in parodies of Star Trek, Aliens, Planet of the Apes, they even got Transformers in there.

The music is also really good too. We have a good collection of songs which are catchy, but we also got a song written for the Spaceballs by the Spinners. And that song is catchy! Heck you know what, that song, along with I Wanna Be Loved By You are some of the best songs in the movie, yet the second is only shown with its TAIL END! Geez, what the heck guys? That song is amazing, play the whole thing!

And is that what I think it is? You Star Wars lovers can pick this out. :raritywink:

I highly recommend you go see this movie, it's freaking hilarious. Spaceballs is a perfect comedy that did everything right, and its a blast all the way. Go see it, its a great movie and I bet you'll enjoy it.

I give this movie, a 9 out of 10.

Thanks for reading, have a great day ladies and gentlemen.
