Happy Halloween/Nightmare Night!
Today I am finally offering up a treat, no tricks. A new dark little story that I have been polishing for a few months.
"Got to Catch Them All"
How many of you have, at one point or another, played Pokemon Go? Done any of the raids? Well, at the height of raiding season around here you could find up to twenty strangers at a time, traveling en masse from raid to raid. Following our phones faithfully to places we have never been to before, more often than not graveyards at the crack of dusk. This got me to thinking, what if the game designers were less than benign? I mean we all trusted the game. We followed it to wherever it lead if there was the promise of a legendary at the end.
I was tossing this idea around while reading the complete works of H.P. Lovecraft, (An absolute MUST for horror fans), and then the idea just clicked. The result is the new story that hopefully you are about to read.
This is my first attempt to write a Lovecraftian style story. Hopefully some of his darkness has seeped into the lines here and there so that you can enjoy his unique style of terror.
We shall see.
