Clearly Better than Transformers 5 · 5:30am Oct 6th, 2017

But by how much...

"Tap... Tap..."

Let's just say: This is a Brony's answer to the first Pokemon and Spongebob Movies, which is saying a lot since I both enjoyed them and so I enjoyed it, even though there were only two others in the theater.

First off is the animation. Good God is it beautiful, and I've gotten a closer look at how the magic aura's were done (refer to this on how I've done it). On a high definition screen, I can see more details, especially on the eyes.

However, there are a couple nitpicks. Like the Lego Ninjago movie, it's assuming you've watched the show (which is saying something to an obvious crowd). Not only that, but also those prequel comics regarding our antagonists, especially the Storm King and Grubber. Because I don't have the luxury, it leaves me feeling empty when most of our focus is on Tempest Shadow.

Secondly, it moves too fast (heck I even thought, "when did they even sleep?). After the first ten minutes, we get the invasion, then the journey to Mos Eisley and meet Capper, then to the pirate dino-parrots, and so forth. Perhaps this is just a first attempt on a movie of this scale, and I'm certain they'll improve. Personally, I would add just ten minutes in the beginning; not give us the entire origin, but something on how Tempest earned the trust of the Storm King, kinda like how Mewtwo and Giovanni worked together before the former escaped.

Now comes the big question: How can I fit this movie with my universe of stories?

Surprisingly, there are quite a few ideas that have come in my longer-than-tall skull

Ponyverse: Sunset, Starlight, Cosgrove, and the like are among the many to be captured. Some like Cogsworth did put up a fight, but it's ultimately futile. Now with Tempest reformed somewhat and still with her disability, she could just as well be Cogsworth's teacher just as I had Sunset Shimmer be Cosgrove's; at the least, her fighting skill can balance out the hulking Galgameth.

Equestria Girls: A trickier one... I haven't used Principal Cinch much... So... Maybe she would tell a certain military group of a certain band of teenagers, a pre-pubescent boy, and a talking dog.

Monsterverse Crossover: Perhaps the one I can definitely work the antagonists in with the upcoming "Monsters of Everfree." Storm King (there called Storm Leader to his squadron) would take the role of Packard and Grubber his right hand man. Tempest Shadow would again have the most development; If her pony self was attacked by an Ursa Major in that one bad day, then her human self would have a similar origin. Like what I have planned for Gloriosa Daisy's new origin, this is one a Kaiju fan can recognize.

One party aboard the yacht "The Lucky Dragon..."

On one. Unlucky. Day.

She would take on a role like that of "The Iron Giant's" Kent Mensley: She knows what happened that day, and will not take any bullshit excuse from any camper at Everfree, especially our best human and pony.

Overall, this is enjoyable, and I encourage everyone to watch it in theaters. It never fails to have the actual ticket stub.

Welp, I'm off to bed. Animation practical tomorrow, a job to go to for the next two days, a few song covers from Wubcake to listen too. So much to be had, but not before saying...

Silverquill will always be best Hippogriff!
