A good story displays a moral, the best ones attach you to the characters who display them.

New Chapter Out, and New Cover!

Background shamelessly stolen from an actual SoT book
I'd recommend giving that one a read!

    Featured?!

Y'know for a moment there I was scared I'd lost my touch when it came to writing after I took those years on hiatus... this is a really encouraging sign.

Thank you all so much for showing me I've still got it! It's reassuring, and more than a little flattering. Don't think I've really processed it yet, since I basically just woke up.

    Good to be Back

I won't promise that I'll be able to return to my old projects immediately, or even at all. But I did mean it when I said I was coming back! I've spent too long not doing anything about my passion for writing, and that needs to change. :twilightblush:

So, in I come with a brand new story to tell! Please, come and tell me what you think of the beginning to the Coves of Courage!

    The Old Bones Creak

The pegasus' eyes fluttered open blearily. How long had it been since they closed? Weeks? Months? His coat felt uneven and unkempt, his mane was longer than he remembered, and thick with tangles he could feel without even moving yet. When his eyes adjusted to the low light around him, the dusk seeping in through a boarded up window; everything he had known was coated in moss and lichen. Vines

An Interesting Turn of Events... · 12:34am Sep 2nd, 2017

[WARNING]
The following blog is the longest blog I've ever posted, and covers a few different subjects.
If you have the attention span of a teenage mutant ninja turtle on sugar, you might want to turn away now.

One stereotypical teenager line to use on parents is "you don't understand me". I doubt I could ever use that phrase, on my mother especially.

Why not?

Well, for one thing. If you decide for... I dunno, some reason- to snap at your parents, at least use more creative reasoning.
Also, it's probably best if you don't snap at your parents anyways. Calm discussion goes waaaaaay better.

I think I went on a rabbit trail, why did I start this blog?

Oh, right!

Well, out of nowhere, my mother walks into the room I'm currently recovering in: and shows off a new MMO game I'd heard of before, but dismissed because I didn't think she'd consider it.

Well, much to my surprise, she made me an account. Thanks, Mom! :pinkiegasp:

Now- because I'm a critic -I feel obligated to do a review of the game.

Amethyst's Thoughts on...
AETHERLIGHT

Now, maybe it's just my fever-addled mind, but I really enjoy this game.

As far as gameplay, it's your standard role-playing mmo: not much that you haven't seen already, or couldn't figure out yourself.

It takes place in a steampunk world, which earns points immediately, I'm a sucker for steampunk. You play the part of... well, you. But you get to give yourself a fun name, like Mumflr Fumperdink or some such nonsense.

The fighting mechanics are simple, yet solid. The overworld is stylized nicely, and contains plentiful drops to the point of annoyance. And even the simple CG designs for the characters has that hard-to-pin mmo charm to them.

The story- as far as I've gone -is again: simple, yet charming enough to be engaging, and even a little intriguing.

Is it phenomenal? No. But it doesn't have to be for me to enjoy it, and even reccomend it!

You do need to purchase the episodes, however, and that is a shame. But, I don't think ten bucks for fifteen hours of gameplay is a bad price, and buying the full season gives you 20% off anyways.

Plus, it's a family-friendly game: so watching your tongue is a requirement. I can't complain about that, because even with my use of the occasional cuss; I always try to respect that there might be children observing what I do online.

All things considered, do I enjoy this game? Yes.

Do I recommend it?

... Yeah. I actually do.

There, got that over with.

And since we're on the subject of MMOs, I figured that this might be a good a time as any to reveal one idea I had for my YouTube channel once I get a new laptop: Let's Roleplays of games such as Pony Town, Legends of Equestria, etc.. Pony Town specifically, I like to do mild trolling, because I'm a jerk.

Also, yeah. I did just say that I'm planning on setting up an account on Legends of Equestria when I get a new computer. I'll blog about that here when I do get that done.

So yeah, that's everything.

Until Next Time, God Bless You!

Well, I'm saving a lot of my life stories/reviews/ideas for YouTube, so that plays a part in it. :rainbowlaugh:
