So for a future chapter I've got a pony with a story telling cutie mark. I've been building up to this with great subtlety. You'll never guess who it is. I'm very pleased with that particular scene. Over all, I am pleased with that entire chapter.
There's just this one, itty bitty infinitesimal little detail that I might have overlooked.
What the Hay does a story telling cutie mark LOOK LIKE!?!?!?!?!?
If anyone has an idea, and if I like the idea, I could put an OC into the story for you. Just make sure the OC is a pony. And be warned, pegasi and unicorns will not be appearing for quite some time. It will be a lengthy wait.
So...one story telling cutie mark in exchange for an OC of your creation. I hope this seems like a fair deal.

Unfortunately, since I was trying to do an update a day for ten days I've already reached that chapter. The cutie mark is now two hooves passing a star between them. I really like your idea though, and if it didn't require going back and if I didn't like the symbolism of Thistle and Light having stars I'd definitely change it. If you like though I could still place an OC in the story for you?

Well, as of now, I've only read the first chapter. In all honesty, it gave me the same impression as the original version of the first chapter of Herd Life. Now, if you paid attention to the author's notes provided by Gentlehoof, you probably already know who I am. If not, I'll make it easy for you. I'm his editor.
If you're serious about the OC, then sure, I'll go ahead and create one for HP. All that I have at the moment may have a heavy impact on the direction of the story this early on (Unicorns and Pegasi).
You seem like a good writer and I'd like to add you to my client list. Let me know if you'd be interested in sharing an editor/influence with Herd Life.

I did recognize your name but I didn't want to freak out about it. I love Herd Life and it was actually the inspiration for Helping Ponies! And yes, I was completely serious about the OC thing. You can ask for a Unicorn or Pegasus, but they probably won't show up for a while. If you read further you'll find that the only pony in the herd who even knows Unicorns and Pegasi exist is Enduring, she tells Thistle the story, but they won't be showing up for a while. If you make an Earth pony then you'll have to decide if they're part of the Main Herd, or if they're part of some other herd. Main Herd will obviously make it into the story sooner.
I've never had an editor before and I'm not too sure how that works on fimfiction. At the very least I'd like to give it a shot, with the understanding that my first year of college has just started this week and I'm going to be busy trying to get my schedule down. How does this work on fimfiction exactly?
