I Found Some Legitimate Alternatives To YouTube
There is a site called Veoh (http://www.veoh.com) which has been around forever. They have millions of people access it every day. I believe they have a phone app for the site as well (for both Android and iPhone).
You can upload any kinds of videos you want and you can even upload videos from an existing url.
Veoh also has forums (http://www.veoh.com/bulletin); something pretty unique for a video site.
The downside is that they don't have monetization of videos, BUT! That doesn't mean you couldn't just promote your Patreon/ PayPal accounts in the comment sections of the videos you upload. I mean, that is basically what content creators are doing on YouTube right now anyway.
That also doesn't stop you from accepting sponsorships from various companies that you can manually place in your videos.
And of course it doesn't stop you from selling your own merchandise on mugs, t-shirts, and whatever other items you want to create through Spreadshirt (https://www.spreadshirt.com) or Teespring (https://teespring.com).
I am not really sure why more people aren't talking about Veoh (http://www.veoh.com) as an alternative to YouTube. I mean this site has been around forever. The servers are very secure.
I think it is a better alternative to Vidme (https://vid.me) which gives a limit to the length of videos you can upload until you are verified and also has pretty strict community guidelines. Vidme isn't enforcing any strict rules as of YET...but they do have a warning against hate speech. But as of right not it is not actively getting rid of content it doesn't agree with. In fact it features a lot of 'controversial' stuff on the main page. So that could be another backup option.
Another backup I found (by somewhat chance) is BitChute (https://www.bitchute.com). BitChute places a huge emphasis on free speech and has an open source coding system anyone can add to. BitChute seems to be the best option in terms of free speech. However, it is a new video hosting site so it doesn't have same amount of traffic as Veoh or Vidme. But if more people join, it can easily be on par with both.
I just thought I would throw these sites out there for anyone who is kind of looking for some 'backups' to their YouTube account, in the event that YouTube goes full stupid and starts basically deleting everything they don't agree with off of the site.
Check out the three sites and see how they work for you. I am curious to hear your thoughts. I would like to see lots of YouTubers try these sites out. It might encourage the site developers to put a monetization option on uploaded videos and keep each of the video sharing platforms censorship-free.
What about Dailymotion?
4624826 Daily Motion is a good one too. :) But I didn't include it just because a lot of people don't like the setup of the site. And they have also implemented a censorship type of rule on their site (clamping down on 'controversial content' similar to YouTube). So people are looking into other options. But I mean, it is good if you are posting videos that can't be perceived as controversial.

4629660 I hope that they will too. But if they continue to be stupid, at least there are some alternative sites out there like Vidme and Daily Motion where you can monetize videos. And Veoh and Bitchute which are censorship free and can be used to upload videos to as well.
