Potential Change to LoH

{Spoilers Ahead}
Hello every-brony,

DarkFire checking in and letting you in on an idea for Glaciem that has been in the silently developing itself in my mind now since I first started writing "Light of Harmony."

See back during season 2, I had Glaciem be from a kingdom called "Equosia" since I did not see him being an Equestrian and the Crystal Empire had yet to exist. However since the Crystal Empire debuted and I noticed the very snow heavy theme to that kingdom, I began to ask myself "What if Glaciem where to be from the Crystal Empire?"

And at first, it was an intriguing idea, a land that had disappeared because of a disappearing spell from an evil king versus a kingdom that collapses after its rulers fall in battle and it's only Prince is too young to rule. When I get right down to thinking about it: it makes a very good fit in one aspect: Glaciem is an Alicorn who specializes in WINTER based powers and the Crystal Empire is a snow and crystal themed land.

And over the years it has slowly built up more consideration in my mind. However, with more thought more problematic questions emerge; Chief among these questions is:

"What about Princess Cadence and Shining Armor? She was heralded as the crystal princess."

But it wasn't until today I remembered that she was not BORN an Alicorn or a princess of the empire. With that dawning on me this afternoon this idea gained more momentum to the point where I now write this journal.

I feel like I should consult you guys, my friends, before making such a HUGE alteration in my story. The changes as I said would be immense but also help it fit more in tune with the canon of the show. The changes are listed below...

{SPOILERS ARE HERE!!!!}

1. Twilight said that the crystal fair was created by its first Queen to "Create Love and Unity..." well guess what villain of mine hates love and unity?

2. guess what position Glaciem's mother Gaia was in my story. in the s3 opener, Twilight said it was developed by a "queen." No name was specifically mentioned, however...

3. Rixa would probably be erased as a character in my story for King Sombra as a villain for my currently posted story. Recently I have thought about moving the timeline of my story to one thousand years before Twilight's coronation.

How the opening of my story would be, if these changes are to happen, is this: One Thousand years before Twilight and her friends King Sombra, a wicked unicorn king and (SPOILER ALERT!) follower of Nemesis' teachings (END SPOILER) comes back to finish what Nemesis started and defeat's his parents while Glaciem the prince in training is off on a diplomatic favor.

Upon hearing what has occurred at home Glaciem, along with Celestia and Luna, return to defeat Sombra; but not before Glaciem's home is taken for what seemingly is forever. This, in turn, would create Guilt and Sorrow within him Two emotions that can be easily exploited by the dark side.

the only problem right now is that who would turn Glaciem to the dark side? Sombra and Nemesis are imprisoned, Discord has been defeated, and Nightmare Moon does not yet exist.

But overall I am done rambling here lol...let me know what you think? I personally have warmed up to the idea! It would make my writing easier and make more sense than trying to create a country, give it a name, give it a personality, and explain why it does not exist anymore.
