Today, for the first time ever. I had to put down one of my dogs. She was 12 years old and suffering from cancer. She lives much longer than any of us expected to. I think everyone knew she was going to have to be put down, but we all thought we'd know when it was going to happen. We didn't.

This morning when I woke up, we all noticed a slight deformation on her head and scheduled a vets appointment for later in the day. My mom and sister left to take my boxer to the vets at 12 PM. They were gone for two hours and arrived home at roughly 2:23 PM. They didn't have her with them. They told me that they had to put her down, otherwise she would have died very soon. She's been in my life for 12 years, I'm going to miss her.
