While I Await Help... · 2:43am Jun 9th, 2017

It’s kinda chock full of flaws, but then again, nothing is perfect. What I’m getting at from this new “Dark Universe” series is that it reboots Universal’s classic monsters in a sort of Hellboy-League of Extraordinary Gentlemen sort of way. But it already shows glimpses of some of the monsters already slain via specimen chamber from the hand of the Creature from the Black Lagoon to Dracula’s skull. It’s amusing to see Russell Crowe play Jekyll and Hyde leading a MONARCH-esque organization on a duty to stop the “large evils” (You must know that Dr. Jekyll himself was experimenting with ways to separate evil from the innocent soul, thus his condition).

In the end, Tom Cruise is either The Mummy or The Wolfman (there is a brief moment where Cruise gets some form of animal features). Whether it’s true or not, we would have to see if this gets a sequel.

From the successes of “Kong: Skull Island,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” and “Wonder Woman,” this is a bit of a letdown. Enjoyable, but I would more likely want to see the upcoming sequels to those three films.
