Fimfiction's New Update - My Thoughts · 10:02am Jun 6th, 2017
Okay, now I’m sure many of you might be a bit... whew when it comes to the new update.
Also, this is just my personal opinion on what I think about the site, okay? I’m not speaking for everyone here.
- There are lots of new features, mostly for writing comments, stories, and other things, of course. There’s a header button which I will find particularly useful for writing stories.
- Not so sure about the sub and superscript buttons... I never really used those, but they’re a nice addition to the site.
- There’s also bulleted and numbered lists which help out a lot for organization when it comes to journals and such, especially if you’re like me and like to organize some of your shit.
- An embed content button... oooohoho I’m pretty sure I can find a way to use that and have fun.
- There’s also a button for code? I honestly have no idea how I would use that, I know little about coding so...
- There’s a page break button, that or it just looks different.
If you noticed... I used the bulleted list 
Also tested out the preview button... mmm... the new preview compared to the old one is... okay I guess? I just need to get used to it.
Most things I’ve seen on the site, which I’ve managed to root around and check some things to see the new stuff. Honestly, I really like how the site looks now, the color blue is easy on my eyes, doesn’t seem as bright as before. Things are more... compact? Not too compact but just enough. It also shows when stories were posted, like the actual date and time of posting which I find really neat.
Also... when you hover over your name and you see the links for say, Stories, Blogs, your groups and all that, there’s one at the bottom that says About, which takes the place of something else, I think stats. Clicking on it, it’s basically your stat screen but slightly different looking. It shows all of the links that user has to their other websites, like mine are deviantart, twitter, youtube and fanfiction.net.
And it’s also telling me I’ve been registered since the 9th of June, 2011, but the other thing near my avatar says I’ve been a member since 2014. So I’m a bit confused, just a tiny bit.
Aside from that... the site looks great, I like the update and I hope you guys do too.

We get used to it. I like the changes but they should have kept the Tag Colors and the Story statistics and character pictures.

I’m glad some people like it but for the past day and a half I’ve been rooting through scripts to get it looking as close to pre-update as I can. Some of the new things are neat but I was content with things the way they were.
