Day 3: The End · 1:47pm Jun 4th, 2017
I'm leaving. Everything has gone wrong this trip from late flights to a broken room TV and clogged bathtub drain, and yesterday was the worst. I played twice and lost both times in minutes, putting me down another $350. The first time, I twice confused 5000 chips with 500 ones and made unintentional raises (once the chips are bet, you can't take them back) that ended up costing me my entire stack; on the final hand my straight was beaten by a full house. The second time, I made a foolish reraise on a hand I was crushed on. I don't care to relate the particulars, just know that I acted like a total fish (a popular term for an idiot poker player) and was just giving my chips and money away.
My luck is bad, my play is poor, my mind is elsewhere, and I'm not enjoying myself at all. I'm not sure exactly what's wrong, but it's clear the stars are anything but aligned for me right now and I'm not going to hit the accelerator on my losses when all I see ahead is a cliff. I'm down $1260 after 4 days, and that's where it ends. I'm leaving two days early to save my remaining bankroll and as badly as things went, it will be a long time before I try again after this. Probably another year.
Thankfully, Travelocity was able to rebook me at little additional cost. So I'm heading out soon without any further damage. I'll spend the final two days of my vacation at home and start work on the next TLaTU chapter.
Sorry to hear the Zen wasn't with you friend. We'll be happy to have to back. I look forward to the new TLATU chapter!
Yep, kinda called it.
Safe travels!
You're wise enough to know when to walk away, there are a lot of poor fools who don't.

Sorry my friend
