Even with how Microsoft has stated that Windows 10 would be the "Last Windows ever", this wouldn't be entirely true, as eventually, no matter how far or short into the future, the underlying architecture of Windows 10 itself would grow to the equivalent of the ill-fated DOS-based kernel that led to the downfall of Windows ME. Because of this, Based on the longevity of the previous kernel before WinNT, Windows 10 may last for up to another 15-20 years, depending on how hardware capabilities evolve over the course of time.
Intel and AMD have historically been two of the fiercest rivals in the CPU market. Whenever one or the other gains a major foothold, their opponent quickly scrambles to catch up, and often ends up exceeding their competitor in the process. This happened before with the AMD k6 line vs. the Pentium 2/3, the Athlon vs. Pentium 4, and most recently, AMD's new Threadripper vs. the Core-X series.
