BronyCon 2013 – Part 3
By: Matthew S. Palumbo / Yosh E. O’Ducky

---------------
BronyCon 2013 had so many positive highlights for me. Not only was I not off in a hospital for numerous surgeries, as I was during the exact time period in 2012, but I also got to do something genuinely fun with my son, Ethan!

Ethan and I used to watch MLP: FiM together all the time. He looked forward to sitting with me and seeing how each episode played out. As he did he would ask me questions about how magic works or why certain things may be going on. Since I had enough vision to clearly see a majority of the vibrantly colored animation I was more than happy to explain all I could with him by my side.

While at BC 2013, Ethan was treated so kindly. Vendors would give him discounts on items he liked, or even a free sticker or button. He also received loads of comments from attendees who noticed he was helping me around. It was very heartwarming to see him being so positively received and acknowledged.

This was my first “Father / Son” event that had absolutely nothing to do with an eye appointment or just walking around the block we lived in. I will forever treasure this time for how much it made me realize how, despite my visual troubles, my son did love me and I could be a strong and supportive dad.

Below is a priceless moment where Ethan got to talk with the voice actors during the Friday Voice Actor panel. BronyCon goes to great lengths to ensure the true target audience of the show gets first go at speaking with the VIPs. You can see him at the 1 hour and 2 minute mark.
