    Exploiting the Crystal Mirror

It has been several months since the end of DPGCMC, and without much of its tourist trade, the Crystal Empire has seen better days. One thing the Empire does have is the Crystal Mirror, and an old friend of Cadance's just stepped through it.

    Yes, DPGCMC is now complete.

If you started reading when one new chapter was up and didn't see there were four, well, you have more reading to do.

All three CMC have their marks and are pretty well defined in their new roles. In essence, anything going forward would not be the day to day goings on of the crusaders anymore, but things set on a much greater time scale.

    Status Report on DPGCMC

The next chapter is 60-70% complete.
The one after that is 55-65% complete.
The one after that is 75-85% complete.

If you are thinking, "Hey wait a minute -- that means you could have had two chapters out already if you had posted them as you wrote them and didn't write ahead so much," you wouldn't be wrong.

    Season 7's CMC and DPGCMC

The more I see of season 7, the more I realize just how much the CMC have lost by taking up Discord's offer. By, in a way, cheating themselves to some semblance of adulthood, they got tons of responsibility before they were quite ready for it, and it significantly changed the way in which they developed. I am not a songwriter -- are any of you?

One thing some of you know, and others might not, is that I tend to bounce about a bit in my writing. I tend to write pieces of future chapters at the same time as I am writing my current chapter.

Season 7's CMC and DPGCMC · 7:00pm May 13th, 2017

The more I see of season 7, the more I realize just how much the CMC have lost by taking up Discord's offer. By, in a way, cheating themselves to some semblance of adulthood, they got tons of responsibility before they were quite ready for it, and it significantly changed the way in which they developed. It also removed some of the cohesion that they still have in actual canon. They also aren't as tied to each other by destiny(the shared talent in canon).

These changes over the time covered in the fic(compounded by the way the CMC have changed in canon since season 3) have made my portrayal of the CMC in recent chapters annoy a few of the readers out there while others haven't had an issue with it.

It is a natural progression of the characters, and yes I have been aware of the loss that such would cause for them since many chapters ago, and it should be somewhat apparent in the writings, especially if you look for it. It will be more so in the future in some ways, but they will remain the same at heart.

It is kind of interesting how Rarity in Forever Filly is reversed here. Rarity has lost touch with her sister somewhat and looks at her as still the foal that she grew up with in canon and is trying hard to maintain their friendship. In DPGCMC Sweetie Belle has seen herself as messing up things too much for Rarity and is again clinging to her sister in the opposite fashion. Here, SB has more going on in her life and is interested in trying to hold things together with Rarity, while there it is Rarity who has so much on her plate that she is distanced from Sweetie Belle.

At any rate I am very impressed by how well the CMC are doing in canon, and how close they have managed to stay.

On another note, I did do a chapter in the Operation Westhorse collab that was done in tribute of SSE/Imploding Colon's Austraeoh series. My chapter was https://www.fimfiction.net/story/369912/20/operation-westhorse/epiphany---silvadel
