At this point, I imagine some earlier birds already talked about the movie, but I'll still give my fair share.
As the first of the trio of Marvel films released this year, it's pretty freaking hilarious. Stan Lee has another cameo appearance, Howard the Duck has an appearance for the second time (I imagine he's going to appear in the Guardians movies as a cameo here and there). Basically, it's somewhat of a "Finding Family" story: Star Lord hoped he finally found family in Ego the Living Planet when really he's at home with the other guardians. There are a few deep moments; especially involving Rocket Raccoon (who has some of the best scenes in the movie).
There isn't any after credits scenes involving any comeuppance with the Infinity Wars (perhaps reserved for Spider Man or Thor: Ragnarok), but some threat is coming, perhaps in another Guardians film.
Do I recommend it? Tremendously. And now there is a two-month wait for Spider Man, and a long autumn for Thor.
