I'm a fairly skilled hermetic wizard, and I could teach you the esoteric arts, if you can prove that you are worthy of my instruction.

Have some wisdom from one of my friends on a different site.

Many people on here are miserable and depressed, which (psychological and biochemical factors aside) takes as much if not more effort than being happy and confident, as it requires sustained following of certain specific patterns of belief, thought, and action.

I applaud this dedication to the task of bearing the world’s pains, Christ-like, upon your shoulders, and seek only to assist.

    I haven't even started watching season 9.

I really should get on that. Probably re-watch season 8 as a refresher too.

I don't want to be spoiled anyways.

It's been a while since I posted one of these.

Life's been a bitch, but at the same time things are going okay.

I actually started writing a book...

    A self-help book.

I just got a new hat!

I got a proper MAGA hat, not one of the Chinese fake ones on Amazon. Got it on the Donald Trump web store.

I named it The Red Maga.

So life has been kicking my ass a bit.

As the title said, life has been kicking my ass a bit, but I'm still moving forward. I've finally decided to start creating my planned order of practitioners of the esoteric arts, and I've got a lot of interesting stuff planned for my near future. Things should start improving relatively soon as far as my living situation is concerned, and I'm gonna tear life a new asshole if it doesn't stop

So I've been getting into a new band. · 12:19am Apr 21st, 2017

As the blog title says, I've been getting into a new band recently. I'm probably really late, but Symphony X is actually pretty damned good as far as newer metal bands are concerned. They formed in 1994, and have released eleven albums. They are heavily influenced by progressive metal bands like Fates Warning and Dream Theater, as well as other bands like Queensryche, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, and Dio.

Have a quick listen...

Well, relatively quick I guess...

I enjoy them because they have a lot of lyrical depth, while also blending progressive metal sound with neo-classical stylings in a blend that is both emotional and powerful. I've been pretty taken with them ever since I discovered them a few weeks ago. Well worth the listen if you enjoy a more classic metal sound than most of the newer metal bands out there.

They're fuckin' fantastic. If you enjoy progressive metal, Persefone is an AMAZING progressive death metal band. They released an album this year called Aathma and it's their best work in my opinion. Album of the year so far.

Oh, and if you enjoy black metal, I think Absu's Tara album is also amazing and has progressive influences I think (and the band's lyrical themes in general are about magick, and I don't believe in it, but you might like that...)

4503839 Not really into black metal or other similar metal genres to it. I prefer things more along the lines of power metal and symphonic metal when we are talking about nu-metal genres...

4504220 dude, what? Black metal isn't nu metal at all

Neither is power or symphonic metal

4506328 Ehh, I was super fucking tired when I made that comment. You know what I meant though...

Although, initially, there was just the normal heavy metal, thrash metal, and glam/hair metal before all these other genres of metal started to form.
