Something I noticed about Three and a Half Mares · 7:20am Apr 16th, 2017
Okay, nobody's told me off about this yet but someone probably will, so I'm making this to be on the safe side.
Most of you have at least heard of the Pony POV series. For those of you who haven't, here's a summary of a certain part of it: Multiple Draconequui, including one called Strife, destroy the G3 world to make the G4 one. Seems familiar? Yes, it's very close to the plot of 3.5 Mares. And another part has the main characters being corrupted by Discord from their POV, like in the latest chapter of 3.5 Mares. So, to get some stuff sorted (mostly because I fear Alex Warlorn's wrath):
-Yes, it did help to inspire 3.5 Mares. Almost everything I read or write does.
-No, I didn't get Strife's name from the Pony POV series. I wanted to have Discord as the one who makes the world weird, while he would have a younger brother who liked mind games. I googled synonyms for Discord and Strife was the best one. I invented him before I even read up to that part in the Pony POV series.
-No, it wasn't the Pony POV series that first gave me the idea. For some reason the idea of a G3.5 fanfic called Three and a Half Mares (just for the pun) came into my head and I happened to be reading the Pony POV series at the time.
-You can't copywright an idea, especially not one as vague as 'draconequui destroy the g3 world and g4 happens', and they're different enough that I don't think it'll be a problem, but I made this just in case.
And, to Alex Warlorn, if you're reading this:
Sorry. I would have contacted you and asked if you were okay with me making this a thing, but I started writing 3.5 Mares after I got rid of my deviantArt account and before I stated fimfiction, and when I uploaded all of it to fimfiction from my computer I didn't know you had a fimfiction account. I love the Pony POV series and I hope you're not offended. And, the odds are that I'm just being paranoid, but you did actually favourite 3.5 Mares and watch me because you like it, right? You weren't trying to track me to see if I was ripping off your ideas? I know, I'm just being paranoid, but just tell me.
