I apologize for the little delay, there have just been some things on my mind recently.
One is this Derpy Hooves controversy; the fact that I'm hearing Hasbro may be pulling Derpy WeLoveFine shirts and even the episode from DVR is... well, I almost feel disgraced. That people have really been putting up such a fuss about all this "Derpy offends the mentally handicapped" and whatnot is a bit mind-boggling (and somewhat sad to boot). I have a friend who's mentally handicapped and stated that she's more offended by the suggestions people are making of the mentally handicapped than Derpy's on-air character.
If you prefer the name Ditzy/Ditsy Doo or whatever, that's just fine. Fanon exists for a reason. What really bogs me down is imagining what the people over at The Hub, Hasbro, and everyone involved with MLP:FiM are thinking. I mean, what impression does this leave of the brony community? I wonder if non-brony people have been contributing to this controversy at all. I'm really curious about that, actually.
Just a thing to ponder. Chapter 23, 24, and 24.5 of "Tales" should come over the course of this weekend. Enjoy your weekends, peeps.
I agree. This is a sign of love from the writers at FiM, and to spurn their reach out to us is truly insanity.

Well, thanks. I do prefer Ditzy. That said, I think the controversy is bogus too. Is not MLP: FiM about love and tolerance?
I agree, In my opinion the whole thing is silly and Quite frustrating if you ask me. The writers reached out and showed us that "hey we see you and are glad to make you guys happy! Here is a character that you all love!" And what do some of the people do? They blow up!! Why? Because they felt that it was some how implying something which was not meant at all! And in my opinion its a piss poor excuse for just the fact that she did not get name Ditzy Doo! And they be jealous over that. People are truly infurating!!

Don't worry about it to much though ST Hasbro, The HUB, and studio B realize that the primary community loves that they reached out like this and to have a few haters is to be expected when you do something like they did. Have a good weekend! 
I'm still optimistic and I'll continue thinking it's some work-around to get a copyright on the name Derpy or something until they officially say otherwise...

I know right? I respect those writers so much. Heck, a dream of mine would be to write shows, plays, novels maybe. To give fans something little and have some fighting against it... I dunno.

Agreed, love and tolerance! I have absolutely nothing against the name "Ditzy Doo", nor against people who prefer the name. I think it's a cute name and it's fitting in and of itself as well! It's just that some people who are blowing up about the Derpy name... yeah, those are the people I'm a bit concerned about.

Thanks, man. I'd agree with almost all of that; the one thing I'm a little unsure of is that I do believe that some that are raging about the name aren't just doing so because they like the name "Ditzy Doo" more. I think some are actually just genuinely offended or worried about "mentally handicapped being offended". Who knows.

As will I, though much of my life up until recent years has been spent in pessimism. The battle continues as I hope it's just copyright stuff getting fixed. And if it is, I (and many others worried about losing Derpy) will feel rather silly.
Wanted to write something long and smart... But then I figured it won't add anything to what was already said:
It's stupid, immature, disrespectful and once again - stupid.
And honestly? At this point no matter what Hasbro does - they will offend someone. Be it the Derpy fans if they changer her name, or the anti-Derpy movement if they keep her name.
So might as well keep how it is - no sense going back on your word if both options are equally bad. Perhaps not doing anything would be the best course of action.
Remember someone saying "No matter how hard you try - you will offend someone eventually". (There was a follow up but I don't really remember it, but you can guess what it could have been)
Oh... while writing me an actual thought occurred to me - why would Derpy be offensive if she is still treated like a normal member of the community, at least in canon. Doesn't that show that a handicapped person/pony can be just as good as any other member of the community? And she is hardly made more fun of then anypony else in the show.
I'm thinking too much about this, aren't I?
