Absent till Friday · 2:13pm Apr 3rd, 2017
Greetings everybody reading this!
Normally I wouldn't write such a message as I don't consider myself as a "famous daily poster", but given anytime I log in, I find at least five long PMs asking about something or for help, I feel obliged to let you know;
I won't be here till the Friday 4/7/2017 because of work and studies. It's possible I'll log in from time to time, but I would lack the time for reviewing, reading and any longer chats. So if I don't reply immediately, don't be upset, scared, annoyed... or happy, if that's how you feel no one replies to you
Also, when I finally kicked myself to write to you all, I think it'd be good to let you know how stories and such are going...
The Forest Pony is already written halfway through eight chapter (+ the ending is done) - for your idea, I'm estimating it at the moment to be about twenty chapters long. I'll start posting chapters again when I finish the improved cover art.
For Forbidden Room, I have all the prompts for the next chapter written down, now I need to sort them and work on a way how to connect 'em. Prepare for a lot of spotlight for little Octavia
As for Natura... it's long completed, of course. However, I already got asked a few times if there is a chance of sequel appearing... Honestly, I'd like to write more, but lately the show gives us far more modest numbers of new magical creatures and all just for a glimpse... But if you have any ideas, feel free to contact me.
And that's all for my written works... published I mean Say, how do you like young Dashie?
Also... - and I wanted to make this as short as possible. Oh well - to make sure I don't forget about anyone, here is a list of my current objectives on this site:
- Finish cover art for TFP and my other project
- Finish the chapter I'm helping SonicRainboomDash with
- Read and check Chapter 6 of Like a Paulownia
- Continue on cutting down my Read it Later library (currently hosting 10 stories in different state of being read)
- Start working on cover art for The One and the Only
And that's all I can think of now. Did I forget about you? Let me know!
That's all from me, have a nice day everybody!
Signing off
-Ever
You're still there? You curious imp... Anyway, under this note, you'll find a short glimpse of one of my characters. I wrote it as a part of long dead collab for one unnamed group. So, why not have it up for you to (hopefully) enjoy
Hot. It was unbearably hot.
The city of Manehattan bustled with life as ever. The air shimmered above the roads, filled with dust and the stench of overworked taxi stallions. Polished windows of offices and unclean windows of simpler houses alike reflected the violent sunlight, bathing the streets in more heat.A young unicorn mare trudged her way across the pavement of uneven cobblestones. She squeezed through the crowds of sweaty stallions stuffed into business suits, mares with façade of make-up and mascara, eager bellcolts and florist fillies.
Hedvika hated every second of it. She was used to having vast fields and woods around her. Just her, her companion, the green light filtering through leaves and a few timberwolves. Here, between this mass of fancy fabric and pony flesh, she felt exposed.
Her green coat - blending so well in her beloved Forest - along with her threadbare saddlebags and filthy scarf was like a magnet for an occasional glance or a disdainful huff.'This town's too big and cold' many ponies said. It surely was big. Whoever came up with 'cold' probably never trotted down these streets. Hedvika grunted as she was thrown forward, her fall cushioned by some rotund stallion and his moist shirt. Oh, how was she looking forward to returning home.
Suddenly, the crowd spat her out at a small clearing. Turning, she spotted the source of the anomaly. There, on the dirty pavement covered with old chewing gum, sat a devastated beggar, creating a gap in the crowd.
Hedvika stood still, biting her lower lip. The hurrying mass of ponies toyed with her from side to side.
Bracing herself, she started towards the poor pony. She took a deep breath and lowered her head. Her lips hovered just above his ears."Nice try, but for the next time, be more careful. Imitating blood with ketchup is a really cheap trick... Try honey and red dye instead. Using the posh mane gel to make your mane look greasy isn't the best idea either. Its scent is unmistakable... Is begging here really that lucrative?" She straightened back up. Not waiting for an answer, she trotted away with a flick of her tail.
One surprised and a few scornful glares followed her.A few busy streets and many minutes later, Hedvika finally reached her destination. Plopping down on the fancy chair, she breathed a sigh of relief. The marble and jade of the Manehattan train station café offered at least some coolness. Quiet chatter filled the room, along with the pleasant smell of coffee and caramel icing.
"Can I get you something to drink miss?" A sleek waiter materialized behind her.
"Yes, iced tea please."
"Fruit, herbal, black or green?"
"Herbal please."
"I'll be right back with your drink."
Hedvika gave a contented sigh. Her train to Canterlot was leaving soon, ready to free her from this hell of glass and concrete.
"Pardon me miss, but right now we can only serve the tea in these mugs." The waiter returned, his expression far less confident.
"And what's the issue?" She cocked her head, eyeing the said vessel on the tray.
"Unicorns usually find them too heavy to lift with telekinesis, ruining all their enjoyment of the tea." He rubbed his neck.
"I see, though I'm completely fine with it. It's not like I can't use my hooves, after all." Hedvika smiled, taking the overgrown ceramic cup in her hooves.
"Thank you miss." The waiter took a leave.
"On the other hoof, using my horn is troublesome," she muttered to herself, staring into the distance.
Finishing her drink in one full swig, she fished a yellow gemstone out of her saddlebag, leaving it on the table. Then she nonchalantly started for the platform.
