Hiatus, Part 2 · 1:08am Mar 29th, 2017

Evening folks,

I had intended to have an April Fools chapter ready for my stories but it seems like that sadly isn't going to happen. Work is slow but steady on the real chapters for both Mente Materia and Brightest Spark, though if I'm totally honest a recent revelation has made me direct some more attention towards Brightest Spark.

That's Cayde-6, the Hunter representative for the Vanguard. He's going to be showing up in the next chapter of Brightest Spark. It's going to be awesome.

That one minute is so much more entertaining than the 200+ hours I ended up putting into the game.

Cayde-6 has more personality in this trailer than the entirety of the Destiny 1 cast. Oh, and this trailer was also more fun than the game itself. Maybe the second one will actually be worthwhile, just judging from this trailer.

Ah, Nathan Fillion.

Why does he remind me of Garrus Vakarian so much?

Okay, not a Destiny player myself (way too many other things going on at the moment to invest in the universe) but I gotta give props to Bungie for putting out fantastic trailers like this. Always good to hear Nathan Fillion's voice, too.

As for not getting a new April Fools day chapter for Mente Materia I wouldn't worry about it. The previous chapters for both this story and Stardust were fun what-if scenarios that gave readers much-needed breaks from the wartime tensions and eldritch nightmares of the plot. They're the icing on a cake that tastes great by itself. No need to overload it with more sweetness and potentially ruin the experience.

Kind of like ancient Greek play festivals where they started off with a drama, switched gears to a comedy, then ended with another drama. They knew immersing audiences in only one genre would leave viewers numb after a while, so you have to shake up their world to remind them to stay invested.

Anyways, best of luck with the chapters. You've got great fans wishing the best for you.

Maybe it's how the voice has been edited?

4475898 Hey, don't forget that Mente Materia had TWO April Fools chapters: "Things Xcom Operatives are Not Allowed to Do (Foreign Deployment Edition)" was both an April Fools and canon chapter to the series.

And had Arad had time to do this and went with what Arzoo suggested in the creator/editors only group where we discuss stuff for this tale, it would've been a wild and hilarious ride :raritywink: Not gonna say anything more, just in case he changes his mind and does it at a later time.

That and i think the face is reminiscent of a turian

4476303 I am playing Mass Effect Andromeda currently, and even WITH the wonky animations and facial stuff, I don't really see too much of a turian in this guy.

... Ultron, on the other hand... :trollestia:

Look to ME 2 or even ME 1

Cayde is easily my favorite Vanguard. Ikora has a sense of dry and sarcastic humor, but she can still get a bit too focused on what she can prove. Zavala? The stick up his A:yay: has a stick up Its a:yay:... enough said.

That said, I can't wait to see his reaction to the Pretty Purple Pony (Princess) Guardian that is soon to be walking into the Vanguard's CIC... It is sure to be quite entertaining.

Cayde is like that.

Nah, it's the Devil May Care attitude.

Or even ME3... Garrus was very "Un Turian" in his general MO, given that he was a bit of a rebel unafraid to bend or even break a few rules if it got results despite being born into a very rigidly military discipline oriented society.
