Building your own PC is often cheaper than buying custom or prebuilt, since there's no labor cost. Only parts.
Minecraft is one of the few games I know of that still run at or above 30 fps on single core systems with less than 2 gigs of ram.
Flash storage used to have extremely high prices for a tiny amount of storage. Take, for example, CF cards. Before the advent of cheap and reliably SD cards, CF cards often cost near or as much as a full hard drive, but could only store a fraction of the information.
It's hilarious to think that 4 megabyte CF cards used to be manufactured. I found and bought one of them from a thrift store for 25 cents, and it can store a whopping two images!
The Thomas and Friends series actually trace their roots to a book series from around the 1940s.
Early movies were called "silent films", because no audio was supplied with the reel. Because of this, either a separate tape, record, or even voice-overs were required. Otherwise, the movie would be recorded in a way so that sound wouldn't be required to understand what was going on.
