Contrary to popular belief, mentors in coca-cola is NOT a chemical reaction. In reality, the fizz is caused by the carbon dioxide in the soda condensing in tiny pits on the surface of the mento, and hen being rapidly released from the bottle. So its not a chemical reaction, but a physical reaction.

4457652 The mixture that bricks are made from contain a huge amount of air bubbles created from the combination of the various parts.
For example, cement is mostly sand, gravel, and water. Water contains dissolved oxygen and co2, and when the cement sets, the gases escape the evaporating water, leaving pockets of empty space and/or air within the solid product.
