I have a feeling that Comcast knows. · 1:26am Mar 7th, 2017
Sorry for the rapid blog-stream. Just after I posted the blog ranting about my internet going out, it came back on again, and the page that timed out on my computer reloaded.
It's creepy, as if Comcast knows that you're complaining, and grant you access to the internet again just to lull you into believing that they're tolerable for a 1-year contract span.
This has happened several other times, too. I'm just ranting away in a text or a blog or something about Comcast, and suddenly it comes on again.
Maybe I should complain more?
Also, this isn't being faked. It's already pretty well known that Comcast has horrible customer service. I'm just crossing my fingers for Google Fiber to roll in here.
Or maybe if Veracity expanded their coverage range. Before I moved I had Veracity as my ISP, and the only time they've ever dropped the connection was when a new subdivision of houses was being built, and a bulldozer severed the cable.
Meanwhile where I live now, Comcast has either driven out or eaten pretty much every other ISP besides Centurylink.
Just the problems of moving from a weird farming/tech boomtown to a decently known city.
'Cause seriously. Just search up "Silicon Slopes" on Google. That's where I used to live. And when I first moved there when I was around 4, it was almost all farms and empty space. Specifically, I'm talking about Lehi, Utah.
I already miss that massive hill where my rc helicopter crash landed on the road, and it hasn't even been a year since I moved.
I should also probably start on the second paragraph of my essay, so enough ranting.
Heh. Good luck getting Google Fiber. I don't have Google Fiber, but I do have Fiber. It's just not quite as fast as Google Fiber.
4446046 Veracity was near Fiber speeds just because it was the dominant ISP in a rural area. Very little traffic, great service. Even just a few days before I moved, when the population exploded into rapid growth, Veracity still held up. My family tried Vivint as well for a couple of weeks, and they're even worse than Comcast, partially because their slightly lower price grabbed pretty much everyone in the neighborhood off of Veracity.

My broadcast is Comporium. It's a shame they're only local to South Carolina as far as I know because they have excellent customer service.
4446051 I do actually remember another time when the internet from Veracity cut out besides the bulldozer incident, but that was during one of the worst snowstorms I've ever experienced, and along with the internet the entire city's power was also out, so.... yeah.

Internet companies generally can't broadcast to an area without power so easily, so it's not like they were at fault there.
4446059 Yeah. I still remember that blizzard as well. It was so deep that the police blocked off the road to my neighborhood due to multiple crashes and pileups, and so me and several other kids had to sleep at a model home or at school. Most of us chose the model home since it had a generator for heat.
Not to mention I was afraid of my kindergarten teacher at the time. Biggest pile of racism I've ever experienced firsthand.
