For those following me, and are fans of EMPIRE, firstly I apologize for the lack of updates. I've been both busy with work, and I've been busy working out the plot, characters and overall concept of this beauty...
UNDERWORLD is a prequel/spin-off to EMPIRE which will take place in the Downworld, the Equus equivalent of the criminal underworld, but unlike the underworld we know, the Downworld is a working society with its own currency, laws and rulers. The story will take place primarily in the Endestria District of the Crown City, aka Canterlot, the largest and farthest ring from the city center. The Endestria District is so big, it is divided into several sub-districts, including the slums. Nevertheless, it is a place riddled with crime and ruled by a coalition of six crime families known as The High Table.
UNDERWORLD will follow a pair of human paternal twins named Caden and Abigail Nightroad who serve as Contractors (Hitmen) for the Mizrahim Famiglia, one of the most powerful families in the High Table, led by Don Elohim Mizrahim. Out story begins when Adam Mizrahim, Don Elohim's eldest son, leads a coup against the family after discovering Don Elohim had favored his younger sister Eva to take his place at the High Table. Having forged an alliance with Santino, the scion of the Camorra Famiglia, Adam hopes to seal their alliance by offering Santino his sister's hoof in marriage.
However, Adam's plan was thwarted when both Caden and Abigail rescues Eva, but not without great cost. Swearing vengeance on both the Mizrahims and the Camorras, the twins set out on a one way road paved with the bodies of those who had wronged them. To truly destroy a kingdom, they will build their own on top of it .
Unlike EMPIRE, UNDERWORLD will be rated Mature for grimdark elements including violence, language and unadulterated gore. The story will take place concurrently with EMPIRE and will feature crossovers from both stories, however Orion is still oblivious to the fact that there are two other humans running about in Canterlot. Will their paths cross eventually? We'll have to see.
