Happy Valentine's Day · 1:30pm Feb 14th, 2017
Hey everyone, it's that time of year again, the international day of love. Personally, this will be my first Valentine's I won't be single for, which to be honest, I'm very grateful for.
However, while many (myself included) will be celebrating this day with a significant other, I'll also be remembering the closest friend I ever had. Last Valentine's day, he committed suicide for reasons I won't go into. We actually spent the whole day together literally minutes before his death, but in that will always know that I was able to make his last hours on earth as memorable and enjoyable as I possibly could.
So just keep your mind and heart open for those around you this holiday, because some people can be hurting and a simple gesture of giving out a rose, some chocolate, or even nice card can mean a lot more than you might think.
It's the holiday of love, and love means more than romance, it means having close emotional and spiritual bonds to those you know and care about. So just bear that in mind as you go about your day, whether your alone or with someone.
