Amaranth and the Mountain (Preview) · 1:18am Feb 11th, 2017
Now that Planet Hell is done, a lot of you have been wondering what's next and when the next entry in the cycle of Eternal Return will come out. To answer those questions, for now I'm working on drafting the final parts of a work of original fiction I'm calling Amaranth and the Mountain, and I won't be thinking much about a return to fan fiction until I at least see the draft done. Since it's going to be a while until I have anything big to announce for either more horse words or regarding Amaranth and the Mountain, I thought it'd be nice to share a little peak at what I've been working on.
Amaranth is a fox, and at a young age she fled her parents territory on the heels of a band of invading lions, and after traveling on the Nameless River for a few weeks she and her brother, Hazel, arrived at a town. While originally built by people, the town was intact inhabited by other animals who opted to build a society at the edge of the wilds. After being captured, Amaranth and Hazel were separated and given a choice over which of the town's residents they'd be indentured to. Amaranth choose a seagull by the name of Tully, which is where the story picks up.
As I said, I'm still in the first drafting process for this story, so while this is probably one of the more polished chapters, everything is still a WIP and substantial changes will be made. I'm not posting this to get revision ideas or bullet points of things that gotta be changed. If you do have any, however, and want to see more of the story and be a part of the editing process, I do run a weekly virtual workshop via Skype every Sunday and you're more than welcome to join.
