Confession · 7:48pm Feb 7th, 2017

The idea of confession that people carry around isn't always a good one. It brings up ideas of interrogation and, in some cases, of rejection and even abuse from others. Confessing what you've done wrong can feel difficult, or as though it will be humiliating.

It is, however, the right thing to do. Confessing your sins to God isn't telling Him what He doesn't know; He knew for an eternity what you'd do before you even did it. It is agreeing with God that what you did was wrong. It is allowing Him to go to work and fix the problem. Holding your sin in doesn't make the problem go away; you are left with the knowledge, however one might try to bury it, that you've done something wrong, and it's like a bullet that hasn't been taken out of your body; it hinders and pains you, if not physically then spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Confession removes, or begins the removal, of that metaphorical bullet.

Confessing to friends and neighbors and coworkers also has it's challenges, but denial just leads to estrangement, and the trouble only gets worse. You won't be able to truly have the problem healed until you fess up to what you did and ask for forgiveness, and doing so honestly and truthfully. Whether or not the other person responds well, you've gotten something off your chest, and can now live without it cluttering your spirit and mind.

I admit, I have done bad things, both on and off this site. I've lost my temper, been nasty and sometimes arbitrary. I've been foolish and insensitive. I've said and done things I regret and I'm sorry I've done them. If I could do it over again I wouldn't have done most, if not all, of it, but going back in time is not a realistic option. All I, or anyone can do, is ask for forgiveness, and believe that God will hear and restore, not just me, but the people I've wronged.

Everyone may not believe me, but it would be kind of hypocritical to call people to confess and not do at least some of it myself.

I hope you all have a great day, and may God go with you :ajsmug::twilightsmile::rainbowdetermined2::raritystarry::pinkiesmile::yay:

I've had to do a bit of confessing, myself. Just because we're Christians doesn't mean we never make mistakes anymore. However, as Christians, we have a God who is faithful and just to forgive.

4413046 You have my thanks, I thought it was appropriate. As you've said, we've all done bad things, and confessing and apologizing honestly for them lifts that burden.

Thanks for also taking the time to read this.

You're welcome.
And I can certainly do some of that "testifying". I have a Pentecostal background, after all. :derpytongue2:
