MLP ipad game · 5:46am Jan 29th, 2017

So... my moms birthday happened recently, and it turns out my dad got her a new ipad as one of her gifts. Seeing as in years past he had gotten her an original ipad that still works, she decided to just up and give it to me. (The old one, not the new one...)

Now, I'd all but sworn off a majority of smart phones and the like due to my 'my trak phone works fine it's not like I need to text or anything' mentality, so I decided to give the whole 'mobile games' thing a spin.

And yes, in my downtime between writing and reading I am now playing the MLP ipad game. Town simulator thing. It's readily apparent to be a greedy money grubbing entity, but I can't seem to bring myself to hate it...

My friend code just so happens to be '8d3a62c' for anyone that wants to help me out on this mindless time waster~

Title of the game might be nice. Is it PC compatible? I have an unreliable windows 10 stream 7 tablet i hardly ever use. Estee has access to a FIM pony game simulator that was never became available, so I never bothered to memorize the name of it. Could be the same one for all I know. So far all I've downloaded onto my tablet is a book full of Dungeons and Dragons spells and the monster compendium (which isn't nearly as interesting as the full second edition binder, seeing as that has pictures and is built like a wildlife fact file).

Any chance of sending the name of that app my way? I am ever so fond of D&D stuff...

I do believe that the app is simply called 'My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic'. I think at least from what I remember that I just put 'My little Pony' in the search thing while trying to find it...

I used to play that. I'm not sure what has been added since I last played it, but it had enough to keep me intrested in is for about 6 months.

I had to let go of my data though, as it didn't transfer over properly when I switched phones, and didnt keep my account.

Currently I'm playing Kindom Hearts Unchained key while waiting for the Fire Emblem game to come out.

Dungeon Master Buddy and Dungeon Master Monster Library.

The spells are in alphabetical order, if only my tablet were a familiar as sentiant as that siri app from Portal, SatAm, or the Boondocks I'd have something more useful. Heck! even a Chaotic tablet is more useful.

I completely forgot about Grimoire! that's the master spell book.

I still haven't logged in or played the game yet. By the time I finished downloading it it was like 2 in the morning. I've been distracted the past few days with finishing a book about solution oriented motivational/intentional interviewing and counseling and the last two chapters were like 50 pages each. I don't even want to read the final one.

Well, real life takes precedence to fun time. All play and no work, so on and so on... I'm probably getting that wrong...

I clearly don't know what I'm doing, I'm defaulted as Twilight Sparkle (unless that's everyone_). The computer shut down during the intro video on the first launch when I was trying to turn down the volume, then I skipped through most of what nightmare moon was saying accidentally while I was collecting bits from the windmill. I spent all the gems immediately trying to figure out the dance game ... and it looks like an activism game, so at least I don't have to worry about Log Horizon BS. Which is great because I still don't know how I'm supposed to contact DAVE!!! I keep collecting these balloon shaped gems and while it appears I've unlocked several ponies the only one helping me out is Bon Bon

4407832 okay, so the basic gameplay boils down to this. Save up money to buy ponies and shops. Each shop can hold three ponies, and if you put the third one in the shop gets a boost to its gold.

SAVE YOUR GEMS. The red rupee looking ones, anyway. Rarity costs like... 25 or something, while Rainbow Dash costs another 60. The reason why you save your gems for these two ponies above all others relates to the quests the game gives you, as well as the way the game tries to taunt money out of your wallet.

Regarding the dancing mini game, get friend codes immediately. 'Friends' ghosts will dance alongside you, giving you a little boost to points with 'triple perfects' when all three players had hit a note spot on. The reason for playing this mini game is that it can give you free ponies and other things slightly less important.

Still on the eqg mini game, every time you start it up it'll autoselect a pony you haven't bought yet and then after the song it'll snidely tell you 'you know, if you had this one you would have gotten extra pooooints~' in a desperate attempt to force you to go whining to mommy about how it'll only be this one time, but then her credit card information will be there and the little brat will be sure to buy at least fifty more dollars or so before mommy gets wise...

Sorry, it's just that this game has a REALLY exploitive mindset, and as much a I AM liking the game it's blatantly transparent with its intentions.

Okay, so... Just use Twilight for those. She should actually have a higher point multiplier than any of the others if you've been playing the star mini games with her (telescope, apple catching, ball volley). The only reason I can see towards paying money or gems for the point multiplier outfits is AFTER you've gotten really good, can reliably complete a song with relatively little flubs, do it one time for each song so your song points are the highest among your friends. That way they'll use your ghost and you'll get extra heart gems(which can buy ponies and shops...)

The mining cart mini game has a feature in it where after your run, it tells you how many more points you need to unlock a pony. What it doesn't tell you is that after you unlock said pony, YOU STILL HAVE TO BUY THEM WITH GEMS OR MONEYS. Usually they're rather cheap, thankfully.

Onto the balloon gems. The balloon gems are element gems, specifically pinkies laughter gems. These are one of six types of element gems, and the easiest to get. The element gems pop up everywhere, but most frequently get pooped out of shops. You save up element gems, and once you buy the land tile that their respective element totem is on, you can activate them. Certain totems cost more than the others, with pinkies being the cheapest(and really, it's the first one they expect you to go for). I don't remember the exact costs of most of them, but I do know that fluttershys costs 100 while rainbow dash's costs 125.

They serve little purpose beyond story purposes, unlocking further dialogue between the ponies and nightmare moon once activated. If you have a surplus of element shards and the totem is activated, you can always just spam click on the totem for some bits. If you give them a hundred in one go, they have a 50-50 chance of spitting out a single gem. The red rupee looking thing.

So... Uh... Wow, kinda ranty there. Just uh... Tell me if that was helpful?

I still haven't played it a second time, and the computer just shut down for a windows update when I played it the first time. So, I have no idea if any progress was saved at all. As mentioned before it's a very unreliable tablet.

Sorry, I got distracted by the Ethan platform game and minecraft story mode demo. I haven't played the ipad game since the one time... and I'm actually probably going to be playing other games and reading over the weekend.
