FIMfiction Authors That deserve more attention. · 6:38pm Feb 2nd, 2012
The title of this blog is pretty self-explanatory. I think there are a few Authors who simply deserve some more attention. So I will list the reasons why and link you to the author and their Story/stories, that are worth checking out. Also comment on their stories, they could use the feedback :).
Evowizard25: This guy is an amazingly talented writer. He writes superb crossovers, listens to fans of the stories and source material and regularly asks his fans what they think of his stories. He has written two exceptionally well written stories, he has other but these are the only two I've read so far and they are brilliant.
First off is Resistance: Equestria and it's exactly what it sounds like Ponies meet chimera except it's more like a chimera in Equestria story with the Xenos in Pony bodies plus human characters too. And a variety of Chimera in various Pony forms. The characters are well fleshed out and the concept, dialogue, story and character development are all Brilliant. I recommend this Gem of a story any day.
Lastly there is Chaotica. A Kickassia/MLP crossover done really well. It's based of enough of the original source material but doesn't rely entirely on jokes from the original Movie. The story has a great sense of humour, good dialogue, Blueblood getting his ass handed to him frequently but in the not too serious way i.e. smacking into doors etc. The Story features Discord trying to take over Equestria with an Army of various Ponies and characters including his OC's. Character's include: The Pony version of The Master from Doctor Who, Derpy and Carrot Top. Gilda, Surprise, The CMC, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, Screwball, Two Dragons, The Diamond Dogs, Trixie, Snips and Snails, Luna portraying the Spoony/Dr Insano role, The Flimflam brothers, Dr.Smith the NC's character from lost in space, Prince Blueblood and many others. The Story is great and the character interactions are superb. There's even a romance plot in there too as well as a delicious backstory. Check this story out.
fiskefyren: Another good author. He's written some good stuff but he's currently going through an editing stage, english isn't his first language. Still even with that he's written some good stories that I think should be read.
Ponydom vs Ponysty: I rave about this story almost as much as After That Fateful Night. It's a splendid alternate reality story that promises more. Celestia, Luna and Nightmare Moon all appear, and without spoiling the plot too much, they discuss Luna and Celestia's Ponysty and how it fits into the Ponydom's plans for Global conquest. It's a good story that I recommend for the subtle and not so subtle humour + The great story and characters. Twilight Sparkle has a particuarly sad story in this one.
The Demon Goddess Only one chapter so far, but it promises so much more. If you're not a fan of Evil Celestia then this won't be your cup of tea. But I urge you to give it a chance considering how well the first chapter is set up.
Illushia: A brilliant author and author of one of my favourite Fallout: Equestria fics.
Fallout: Equestria: New Beginnings - A wonderful story about an artificial Alicorn that is coming to terms with numerous problems, like getting used to individuality. She often has problems with the fact that many see her as a monster when all she wants to be is a good Pony. It has it's sad moments, it's excellent, well described and believable fights and great characters and Character development and even a few fabulous references.
Fluttershy20 Good author who has written one particuarly good story.
Last of the Dragonlords: It's an excellent story. It has Fluttershy dealing with a fairly scary situation for her and Twilight helping her through it. From there things only get better. Did I mention Fluttershy gets killed and comes back to life?
Salnax He's a good author, knows his limitations but is willing to write his best possible story and he does a really good job with his one story.
Foreigner : Despite the title this story is not about a zebra or creature outside of Celestia's kingdom. It isn't a human in equestria story either. Nope this is a new foreign lifeform taking the form of a Pony who struggles to overcome the one barrier that makes love and friendship possible. Communication. It's a splendid lovely story and the author Salnax will be trying for a weekly update schedule which is more reasonable than my own twice a week update I'm trying.
