The Government has a secret system, a Machine, a Machine that spies on you every hour of every day.
I know because I built it. I designed the machine to detect acts of terror, but it sees everything, violent crimes involving ordinary people. The Government considers these people irrelevant.
We don't. Hunted by the authorities, we work in secret. You'll never find us.
But, victim or perpetrator, if your number's up, we'll find you.
Okay... So, yeah. I was watching Person of Interest with my dad the other night, and we got into a discussion on who would play the main characters if it was set in the MLP: FIM verse. Obviously Twilight would play Harold Finch, (Intelligent, lives in a library, anti-social...) but the obvious question is who would play Mr. Reese? My mind keeps coming back to Rainbow Dash, but maybe that's just the TwiDash part of my mind talking. Perhaps somepony like Shining Armor, given his military background (Which Reese has) but I'm honestly not sure here. To be honest, this story idea may never see the light of day. On another note, I do have one other story idea that you're more likely to see.
Yeah, a AppleDash snuggle fic. Even though it would be my first time writing such a thing, I'm willing to give it a try. Fun fact, for Poison Whiskey, my first idea for the pairing was AppleDash, but with Rainbow and Fluttershy being old friends, I figure the marriage angle would work better so FlutterDash it is. (Plus, the promo video I released for the story not too long ago pretty much keeps me from changing the pairing now.) Anyways, the AppleDash snuggle fic will be called "Do you really smell of apples, AJ?". Sorry, but that's all the information I'm willing to give right now. ...And that's totally not chalked up to the fact that I haven't thought much else related to this story. (Looks around nervously.)
I love the series Person of Interest and yeah Rainbow is not the ideal candidate to impersonate Mr Reese. You need somepony that is really stoic, quiet and kind hearted. Somehow I think Big Macintosh can fit the role maybe, but for Root I can definitively see Chrysalis taking the role.

For Shaw, I think Pinkamina Diane Pie would be a good match.
As for Fusco and Carter, you can look with those cop ponies from the comic book where Luna and Spike investigate into the Dragon district. I don't remember if a female cop was shown in the comic, but if not there's always the one from the episode The Gift of the Maud Pie.
4390162 Honestly, if I ever did do this story, I'd set it in seasons 1-2, before everything to complicated. As for Root, I'd probably go with Queen Chrysalis, as she's just nutty enough to work, plus I love her as a character.
