    The Economics of a Wasteland

    Well.

This is a long overdue post, isn't it? Looking back, I honestly can't believe it's been five years since the last chapter released, and, to get to the point straight away, WEcon is not coming back.

Wherein I admit I'm Terrible at Blogging Regularly

    I'm terrible at blogging regularly.

Really, I am. I know this, and every time I break silence to say "this time will be different," a small part of me knows I can't keep that up. And on top of that I know that back in October I promised y'all Chapter 17 would be out in November. Clearly, that never happened. So let me clear the air on one thing, absolutely and definitively:

Blogpost 6/26/2017 - Where the heck is Chapter 16?

A perfectly justified question and a complicated answer. As a short answer, Chapter 16 has been delayed by a huge project that Pipistrelle had to take on for work. I've actually seen how much of her time it's been demanding of her, and seen her work through most weekends for the past several months. Perhaps I could have tried to release Chapter 16 in a state without her going through the

Blogpost 4/10/17 - Breaking the Silence

Alright, remember when I said that I have a bad habit of keeping quiet if I have nothing to report? Yeah, that kinda happened for a bit there. I got crazy busy IRL (and also maybe a bit too absorbed into NieR Automata), but I return with good news! Chapter 16's draft is complete, and editing has begun!

    Blogpost 2/13/17 - 3 Years of WEcon

Holy shit, 3 years already. It's kind of amazing to me that I've managed to stick with this for as long as I have, and I have y'all to thank for it. Writing this story and seeing people actually enjoy it enough to talk about it in my comments section has been such an emotional rollercoaster, and I know it sounds cliche, but I really, truly cannot thank you guys enough for the joy you've given

Blogpost 1/17-18/17 - New Jobs are Bad for Editing · 4:55pm Jan 18th, 2017

I promised weekly updates dammit. As far as Chapter 15 news goes, Pip's gotten thrown into the deep end at her job, and has been told to compose a white paper on a topic she is only half familiar with herself. She's worked herself to the bone over the past week to get it done, including losing her weekend, so editing has been out of the question. I don't know precisely when her deadline is, but I know it's soonish.

Meanwhile, I've not been idle on Chapter 16. PromptAnon has, as always, been an amazing help in drafting the chapter and keeping me on task there. I'm trying to find a good way to show y'all demonstrable progress on 16 without resorting to just listing off the wordcount each week. I'll say that my new goal is to get 16 fully drafted by the time Pip gets to do the round two edits of 15. Like I told y'all at the outset of the year, I want to have that backlog I've always dreamed of. Ideally, as soon as 15 goes live, edits will be already underway for 16.

In the meantime, there's a Discord server that has been set up as a general FoE community gathering, where we've got something of a melting pot from all the different fragments of the fandom. Come on by and check it out!

I think chapter 15 turned out pretty good!

But hey, if you ever need more editors, I'd be willing to edit for you. I've edited quite a bit for my friend, Another Army Brony, and I have an interest in writing proper english, so I like to think I'm pretty good at it. I don't have a whole lot of experience with character consistency/themes, but I'll note the tidbits I do pick up on.

Thanks! I appreciate the offer, but I think the three of us plus a prospective pre-reader (tentative!) is about as many people as I want involved, hah. But really, thanks for offering. It makes me glad to see people still willing to offer to edit stories in this community.

4394993 alright cool, no worries! you're welcome.
