The fandom is slowly dying - There is still hope · 7:33pm Jan 13th, 2017
I want to take a moment to reflect on what is currently happening right. Season 6 is the least watched season in MLP, bronies are constantly dropping out of the fandom and people all over fimfiction are leaving.
We need to pull this together. We can still revive our dying fandom. I would like to do this by reminding you all why we are here in the first place: the community.
Our fandom is based largely around the show, and I have a feeling once season 7 is over, the bronies will disapear one by one. WHo cares if the show stops playing? Screw Hasbro!! Look at all the amazing things we've done that hasbro didn't. We've taken their concept of Equestria and magical races to a whole new level, we could practically start our own show!
Sum up everything Hasbro has done: Twilight Sparkle goes around the magical land of Equestria spreading friendship, along the way meeting villians like Chrysalis, Nightmare Moon, Discord, Tirek and more.
Sum up everything we've built off Hasbro: The hidden society of thestrals, Snowdrop, the Rainbow factory, the countless ships, the ocs, the art, the animation, the history of Equestria and wars between races, Celestia's love for bananas and cake, Luna's love for video games, The backstory of Applejacks parents, Past SIns and Nyx, stories thousands of years in the future when the mane six are dead and twilight is the new ruler,The SOlar Republic, the Lunar Empire, the changeling hives with different queens spread all over the world, Equestria Girls going about their daily lives and meeting friends, Starswirl the bearded possibly being discord himself, I mean all of this is us. If we never became what we are today, MLP would still probably be about friendship and litterally nothing else.
"Slice of Life" was a present for us. Do you really think that episode was directed towards the little girls who only watch the shoe cuz they like colorful horsies?
Hasbro was our base, our ideas, their TV shows and MLP comics have inspired us to achive what we have today.
I'll tell you once again, don't drop out of the fandom because the show is getting uninteresting, or because it's slowly coming to an end. Stay with us, the community. We can branch out, we can thrive.
We can make our own Equestria.
And we can make it epic.
- 78% Pone.
(Please try and share with as many people as possible. I want to get the word out. Maybe together we can build this back up. Thank you.)
The MLP franchise is currently valuated at $2 billion worldwide. In the last four years, it has seen continuous growth.
The only segment of the franchise operating at a loss as of the last fiscal year has been Equestria Girls—though, with the overwhelming success of the EqG minis, that department expects to report a profit as of the first fiscal quarter of 2017.
The fandom goes through phases. Its death has been predicted repeatedly throughout the last several years, and each time it has bounced back. People leave, yes, but there will be others to replace them.
The fandom isn't going anywhere. The show exploded with a bang in 2010, has lasted nearly seven years, and is expected to continue for another year at least. Nearly a decade is too long to not leave some kind of trace behind. If and when the show ends, the fandom will remain. Like the Star Trek fandom did before its reboot, and the Star Wars fandom in the years between the original trilogy and its prequels, the fandom will never truly die.
If anything, I definitely won't be leaving the fandom.
I Will stay to the end of time.
il stay in this fandom
I just joined this fandom a few months ago, and what I've experienced so far tells me I'm staying for years to come. Joining this fandom was practically the highlight for me of last year. Even if the show dies, I will forever stay with the fandom, in life and in death.
Oh, and have a follow. *clicks follow button*
We will always be here . New people are joining the fandom everyday. We just need to hold strong.
I'm never leaving the fandom, that much I know!
I'm not budging dude. I'm staying. And if there was a 'like mechanic' in blogs, I'd just spam it all the way dude.
I mean we save lives by supporting other people in need, and we succeed almost every now and then. Then some say "it's been a good run, but Im leaving" but as some said, there are always others to replace them. i.e Swan Song
I'm actually telling people in my school to watch the show dude, some are trying and they actually love it but others obviously do not.
So the brony fandom has quite a strong integrity, friendship is truly magic cuz we bronies are united.
God bless bronies.
I'm in the fandom for the fandom really. I honestly don't really watch the show unless an episode sounds appealing to me.
Sigh Yeah, the season six finale kinda ruined the changelings for me...
But that means I've got a damn good reason to stay!
The show is refreshing to watch every now and then, but the community is where I shall stay.
Avast! Are ye lubbers be scurvy yellow rats 'fore yonder cannons fire!? or are ye be singin' shanties an' jigs even when ye adversary is be starin' in yer face!?
(Why did I suddenly turn into a pirate?)
(I don't know, just roll with it.)
