In a previous blog post, I mentioned that I am going on a break with writing stories to focus on my other goals.
Random ideas in my noggin, I can write, and publish easily. Major stories such as the redux of "RR and FG" and the TMNT side story I will write, just not publish them while before at least having enough material to do so to publish them at least this October when the movie. Learning from the intensive writing I did on "The Rubicon" the first half of last year, it would be better for me to not publish the stories after writing a chapter or two so I wouldn't be stressed with finishing them in over a few months.
As for that mini-arc for "The New Timeline," I think I can pull it off in at least two six-thousand word chapters before the Seventh Season rolls up this spring (or so I'm told). Arc 4 of "Vacant Niches" I can work on here and there while still keeping that October pre-date.
As for the "RR and FG" redux, here are the ideas I have;
RR
1) One of the things I like about this entry is how it puts the Rainbooms in a terrible position (a moment not too dissimilar to "The Empire Strikes Back"). I would emphasize this by having the Dazzlings turn the Maximals against the Rainbooms. Keep in mind, they nor Sunset haven't mastered "pony ups" at this point, so the fight would be a scaled down, but still vicious, version of a fight with Bebop and Rocksteady.
2) Actually show the tournament; thanks to the presence of my OCs, the tournament adds two more bands, the other being Garble's team.
3) Add a little foreshadow to FG with a hooded figure.
FG
1) The shorts are included, with additional training by the Rainbooms shown in the story.
2) The deleted scenes are included but modified in context. For example, Sunset still wants to go to Equestria, but since this now involves Sunset the Human, it would add emphasis of the troubled learning with a little change in dialogue. The planned ending will be included too, as you can't just transfer to another school the same day a competition ends.
3) Of course, finally expanding my greatest gripe: the third challenge happening, along with an expanded version of the duel between Daydream and Midnight.
I have thought of more ideas for the TMNT crossover. As with "Vacant Niches", each set of chapters represent an arc. I won't give away too much, but I won't show you-know-who right away as, being a story told from Babs' view, happens in media res (but I'm I'll have Splinter explain it).
Arc 1: Heroes in the Half Shell
Arc 2: Mutants in Manhattan
Arc 3: Out of the Shadows
Arc 4: Technodrome
That's what I have in my mind right now, If anything else pops up, I'll be sure to let you guys know.
