And now we reach the first chapter in the saga! And wouldn't you know it, one of my main characters has a toy that can't stand up. It makes posing a special challenge.
Full disclosure, this comic has a rating of Teen for Sci-Fi action/violence. Robots getting blown up, torn up, and melted. That's one of the reasons for a page break, the other being that my blog posts would utterly devour your feeds, like some vast, predatory planet eating mechanoid.
Happy new year, folks!
Nice to see this continuing, I especially liked the comedy of Nightbeat's "cheeriness".
Now for the nitpicks and questions. Does this take place within the Aligned continuity? If so, at what point in their history is this. Is it "Brakedown" or "Breakdown"? Breakdown's the one from the show.
Interesting. This looks to be a post Megatron, post Optimus setting. Are the rock lords actual aliens, as opposed to rock-themed decepticons?
About 1/3rd of why I like Transformers is just the robotic insults. I lost it at "dumbafts."

There's something lovable about a grouch. You just wanna pinch 'em.
This is nowhere near the aligned continuity. Different original 13 transformers, different history of the war, different fates for Optimus and Megatron, the list goes on. It's almost as non-compatible as War for Cybertron is with Transformers: Prime.
That's there's a little in-joke. Just a little giggle. Think nothing of it.
It's more akin to the first cartoon, except with more mature writing. It usually draws from the character's roots, like with Ultra Magnus, Motormaster, Hot Rod, and Soundwave, or some sort of amalgamation, like Megatron, Starscream, Shockwave, and Bumblebee. Recongnizable, yet different.
As for Breakdown vs Brakedown... That's a typo, one that I've made almost constantly because I can't keep Break and Brake straight in my head. It'll be fixed come the next update, since I apparently spelled it correctly later on in the script... My errors aren't even consistent, man!

Ringo! My own special take at a post-war setting. A setting that's becoming increasingly old hat, i've noticed, since the current show, and the current ongoing comic series both use it.
While the Transformers were battling unicron for the first time, Hanna-Barbera tried their hand at a show about transforming robots, too. For the film, they had the Go-Bots going up against their greatest threat yet: Robots that transformed into rocks. Rock lords.
A Hanna-Barbera transforming robots series. It's just like it sounds. Everything you need to know is contained in this trailer:
Ooh, don't I know it. Glitchhead. Bolts for Brains. Slagging slagger. Gasket-breath. You've got your processor so far up your aft you can see diodes. The beautiful, beautiful list goes on.
