Sweet Melody is a gentle young filly, and often thinks of others. An orphan, she was adopted by a young couple and cares very deeply for them as a result. She is often bullied at school, over her eyes as the bullies claim, and at one point she wore a ridiculously oversized sweater to hide the bruises so her adoptive parents wouldn’t be worried. Now however, a young, absurdly strong colt named Buck Tart protects her, sending the bullies flying through 5 walls into the chairs in the Principal's office every time. Because of this bullying, she's very timid around ponies she doesn't know and frequently dives behind Buck when anything scares her, though she doesn’t let this get to her as easily when she’s around her new family and friends, their presence alone bringing her the safe comfort zone she needs to not freak out around strangers.

While most unicorns aren’t able to use magic from birth at all, Melody’s magic came in very early. Although she has a lot of power to put into them, she doesn’t know a whole lot of spells. Though this results in what spells she does know being overloaded, resulting in the primarily sound-based enchantments she uses being high-volume as an outlet for all the excess energy... perfect for club and party tunes.

• Auto-tuner effect on voices, which she made up on the spot for a talent show before getting her mark.
• Make Object A emit Song B, frequently employed at parties.

Her special talent is writing songs, though she interns at the local bakery/candy shoppe for the experience in actual work that can provide her a stable income later in life. Some ponies actually thought her talent was making candy because of this, but that skill just came from a flankload of practice. Her musical note cutie mark being formed with candy canes certainly doesn’t help in this regard.
