If you want to know more about this story or the meanings and symbolisms behind it continue reading.

Warning: Make sure you have read the story before, since this will have a TON OF SPOILERS. If you haven't read it and want to be surprised or explained please stop now, read it and then come back later. You have been warned.

The real meaning

All the story is an illusion and it's a metaphore about someone getting ready to kill itself (something I attempted years ago... don't make me go deeper into this and don't ask questions, please). Just by the form of speaking it's actually deductible if you pay enough attention. And the sci-fi tag fits more under this category, the wormhole is an allegory to the final point and the beep at the end was Moon Dancer's heart stop beating completely. The first act summons up all my experience in the site since my first day. And, of course, all the words written are some of my real experiences. All of them go back from six months to one year.

Poems

At some point I wanted to include all these poems since they perfectly matched the tone of the main story, but I guess they spoiled a lot of what I was trying to say so, to prevent for being more obvious than I should I dropped them all. These were the chosen ones:

It is pleasant, indeed, while the summer lasts
with the mild pheasants’ song ...
but now I feel the northern wind's blast—
its severe weather strong.
Alas! Alas! This night seems so long!
And I, because of my momentous wrong
now grieve, mourn and fast.

I count each day a little life,
With birth and death complete;
I cloister it from care and strife
And keep it sane and sweet.

With eager eyes I greet the morn,
Exultant as a boy,
Knowing that I am newly born
To wonder and to joy.

And when the sunset splendors wane
And ripe for rest am I,
Knowing that I will live again,
Exultantly I die.

O that all Life were but a Day
Sunny and sweet and sane!
And that at Even I might say:
“I sleep to wake again.”

Sleep, sleep, beauty bright,
Dreaming in the joys of night;
Sleep, sleep; in thy sleep
Little sorrows sit and weep.

Sweet babe, in thy face
Soft desires I can trace,
Secret joys and secret smiles,
Little pretty infant wiles.

As thy softest limbs I feel
Smiles as of the morning steal
O'er thy cheek, and o'er thy breast
Where thy little heart doth rest.

O the cunning wiles that creep
In thy little heart asleep!
When thy little heart doth wake,
Then the dreadful night shall break.

Crow, Dove and Morning Roast

Due to how the descriptions of the parents are, one of my problems was how should I named them after? After watching Takeshi Kitano's "Brother" and "True Romance", I decided to choose these birds. The crow, as we all know, is a symbol of evil in Western culture, but in Eastern culture means children's gratitude toward their parents and it's a symbol of victory and virtue. As for the dove... I don't really need to explain this one, right?

Speaking of the sister... she really doesn't have an official name. Since I wanted to be as faithful to the source material as possible, I had to search for her name in different sources. The closest thing I found was Morning Roast and, since she has little to no personality (and we even don't know anything about her since she appears near the end of the episode) that means I can anything I want with her.

The oxygen tank

As you could noticed, Moon Dancer feels drowsy every time she breathes from it. Well, the oxygen tank has no oxygen, it has anesthesia, it's like dying in the least painful way possible.

Rosalina

The protector of the stars and one of my favorite characters in the Mario universe (and the most tridimensional one by far) was the perfect element thanks to her personality. The comet, by this extend, serves like a metaphore for Twilight and Minuette. Each time the comet appears is an indication of the friends coming to the house (which you can guess is the spaceship) and trying to help Moon Dancer the best they can. When the comet stops coming, they practically give up on her.

Referred movies

Many of you probably thought in Insterstellar thanks to the cover, and as a Nolan fan I can't deny it (although it's one of his weakest films next to Insomnia ans Dark Knight Rises), even I planned to include "Do not go gentle into that good night" at some point. But other films used in this story where Benjamin Button and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. You can note this in some of the dialogues for the first one and the starting of each part for the second one. All of them have in common the perspective of life through time.

Why Moon Dancer?

Like I said in a previous blog, she's probably my favorite character in the show and being my favorite character in the show means that I needed a story with her. Pictures in my Head originally had her but I cut her out due to time constrains. I originally wanted this to be an OC Fic, but as time went on, I realized she had a lot of common with me in the show: the clothing, the glasses, the introvert personality, neglecting her personal relationship, family and health (just look at her house in Amending Fences), a little bit of depression, heck, she even has a sister, like me! With these characteristics, I needed to have her in the spotlight. It was also the best way I could do to talk about some issues I have to deal every day. The main reason I don't speak about my personal life that much, unlike many people on the Internet, is because I want to be careful about it. I hope I haven't offended somebody with this choice.
