I sullied the memory of "anti-fascists" and war protestors by writing a Remembrance/Veteran's Day fic. I ended up having to block the guy and delete his comments. I wasn't about to let the comments section degrade into a political slugfest. There's enough of that outside the site to go around.
What a idiot. You just made a wounderfull Story *sigh* todays people.

I know. I hate war as much as the next person, but I don't get why any suggestion our military men actually suffered and died for something is a bad thing.
4300378
Though I don't know if I'd call him an idiot (that lacks charity), just misguided
4300382 ok not idiot but is calling him a dingus ok?
4300390
Misguided works
4300381 thos ho hate the military has no respect for thos ho fight for freedom every were.
4300390
Oh yay, now someone says I should be ashamed
4300394 way? Is it wrong to respect thos ho gave there life for us and still does?
4300396 No
4300397 do you respect veterens?
I do here in sweden we have the yellow ribon. If you bye it you support the Swedish military.
4300398 Yes
Like I said in the comments of your story. As a vet, something I doubt the idiot who was attacking you was. I thank you for the story.
Your story was magnificent, and earned not only a thumb but my 100th favourite. On behalf of all veterans, but most especially myself and my ancestors who served, I thank you. Don't let the uninformed and misinformed, no matter how loud and abusive, discourage you from continuing to write what you feel you need to write.
What bugs me is that nine people down voted this story and besides this one guy I do not see anyone stating why they disliked this story.
That's ridiculous, I'm as anti-fascism and anti-war as the next person and I wasn't insulted. You did a good job on your fanfic, no one should let it get you down.
-G.K. Chesterton.
So many people forget that soldiers go out and willingly risk their lives because they want to serve their homeland. Doesn't matter if it's in America, Britain, Germany, wherever you hail from; all soldiers, true soldiers, fight so that we civilians do not have to.
Seriously? Why do people feel the need to bring down EVERYTHING that we try to make good of or remember by?
I'm as much as an anti-war person as anybody here, but even I realize that sometimes conflict is inevitable, and honor those who bravely go out into battle, risking their lives, morals, and souls so the rest of us can be safe.
Have we become that bitter towards everything now these days.
Firebrand (who actually served in the army) was right: "When did cynicism become the same thing as intelligence?"

If Firebrand is the same as Josh Scorcher, he was actally a Marine, but I get the sentiment.

Yes, I was referring to Joshschorcher, and that was partially a fluke at my lack of remembering, and also doubling as a "Silver-Quill" comment.
