A very wise statement someone just posted... · 6:05pm Nov 9th, 2016
Okay, I was just browsing through my feed, as you do, when I came across this blog post posted by DrakeyC, and he posted a very wise statement relating to this year's election of Donald Trump. I'll quote it for you here so you can see what he posted:
I found out the results overnight thanks to the night shift, my manager had CNN's website on a monitor for us to keep an eye on. I watched from 11 pm right to 3 am and saw the moment he crossed the 270 threshold. And I've had several hours now to process it. I know everyone is probably processing a lot of emotions right now, and I am too. Fear, confusion, disgust, are my main three. Some of you may be happy, triumphant. I won't judge if you are.
My American friends, I cannot speak on your behalf as individuals or a nation, so I will not presume to. What I will say is that, when you go to bed tonight, and wake up tomorrow... this website will still be here. Your video games, books, and TV will still be there. Your friends, family, and pets will be there. You are a strong individual, and you are a member of a strong nation. The United States has survived almost 250 years, including numerous wars, scandals, and presidents like Nixon and Bush the second. You survived 9/11. You survived the Civil War. and both World Wars. You survived the Great Depression and the Great Recession. And you will survive Donald J. Trump. For better or worse, when he eventually leaves office and the 46th president is sworn in, your country will stand.
Now is the time for all of you to remember that strength that weathered you through such troubled times before, and summon it now. Whatever happens over the next four years, know this - he will not succeed where those before have failed. Do not let this result break you - let it harden you, that you will withstand it and emerge strong and proud for having done so.
Good luck, America.
Bravo Sir, I tip my hat to you! God Bless America, and let the flag of freedom forever fly!
Reminds me of the all the 'will survive Obama'.
