Congrats Trump · 8:50am Nov 9th, 2016
Welp, it's confirmed that Donald Trump is our next president. I've been up late waiting for the results and I have to say, I'm fairly surprised. Not that Trump won (it really could have gone either way) but that he won by so much. I had been told multiple times that he and Clinton were neck-and-neck, but this was not the case here. I was expecting a 271-269 thing going on, but the site I've been looking at (http://fivethirtyeight.com/live-blog/2016-election-results-coverage/) provides a much larger margin, 298.9-239.1.
OK, first of all, HOW DO YOU HAVE .9 OR .1 OF AN ELECTORAL VOTE? IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE? I thought electoral votes were, like, people. You can't have a part of a person. Is this site accurate? Maybe it's an approximation? Am I looking too deeply into this?
Secondly, I guess the difference in electoral votes here (which I'm gonna say is 299-239 cause I can't stand the decimal thing and it makes no sense) would generally be a normal difference between presidential candidates, but I'm surprised anyways. Maybe just cause this particular election is so weird.
But yeah, it's official. Trump, somehow, not only won, but by quite a bit (or maybe not, maybe I'm just confused about this whole politics thing). So there you have it. I guess Trump had a better chance anyway, considering Congress is primarily Republican. But even if there are tons of Republicans in the government, I don't think Congress is gonna put up with much of Trump's bulls***. They're better than that right?
Well, congratulations Donald Trump. While you aren't a great person, you managed to capture enough American hearts and spirits to earn the trust of your country. I hope you have a good time in the White House, and maybe learn a thing or two. No one is ever too old to learn things. But, most of all, know that despite checks and balances and Presidents not having much power in general, you still carry a burden on your shoulders. Those of us who don't angrily leave the country will be looking to you for leadership and moral support. So don't let us down. With all the willpower I can muster, I have faith in you.
I will send a virtual Pinkie Pie, because a smile would definitely make your face great again
Peace out 'merica.
