Hey everyone who'll read this. I've decided to participate in Equestria Daily's November writing contest. I used to enter these all the time because it gave me the motivation to keep going on stories that I'd slacked off on otherwise. I'm aiming for a personal goal of 20k words but if I can do more than that would be cool too.
I have two planned fanfics that I really want to write this month but I know given my scheduling and work that I'll only get to one. So I'd like some helpful input into what you think would make for a better story that you think would make for a more interesting read.
The first is a Lightning Dust and Flash Sentry team-up. This is a unique one since it'll take place solely in Equestria which is something I've never done before. It will also give the perspective of the antagonists (characters who I've really wanted to write for) that they are pursuing.
Second, I'm a huge Hajime no Ippo fan and I was given a really great idea of the show based in the EQG world with a lot of the characters taking over the roles of the Ippo cast, with Applejack taking the lead. I have some ideas to mix it up so that it doesn't come across as a straight retelling of the anime and to add some twists that hopefully will keep people reading.
I've mapped out both of these ideas so that I know where I want them to go and where to end them. I'd just really appreciate some input. Which do you think would make for a more interesting read?
Hey man, best of luck with NaPoWriMo! I'm a longtime NaNoWriMo participant, and mixing in ponies is always goodness.
This may just be the fact that I haven't seen Hajime no Ippo, but Lightning/Flash sounds like a cool, offbeat pairing. Plus, if you really want to write the bad guys, that can help give you energy to keep it rolling.
