War Anthologies Part 4 - The First Great Purging War - The Extinction Of The Umbrums. · 5:20am Nov 2nd, 2016

With Calavoss defeated, the training of the heirs began. Redsting and Starswirl trained the three alicorn children well. The three became quite powerful, however among them, Luna was the weakest and hardest to train. She would respond best with Morpheus, so much so that she was the only one to master his dream walking spell, but with him still missing, she was a major problem for them.

Meanwhile the Order of Harmony had been going through several peace treaties with several species that had gone at war during the fall of the alicorns. The alicorns had been brought to near extinction because of Calavoss. Only small pockets had survived, and with most gone, so did a lot of the kingdoms fell with them. Yet despite the fall of most, the Crystal Empire, the Umbrum Cities and the Windigoes Plains barely held on and were determined to stand and stay.

But there was always a worry that everything would fall. And there was the prophecy that all would fall to the Corrupted One. None knew who this was, though some had ideas.

Though one thousand years after the defeat of Calavoss. On what seemed to be a perfect day, King Heavonos had called upon King Dracos to talk to in private. None knew what had been said between the two, but everybody knew what happened next. Two things happened next that changed everything.

First the disappearance of King Emerald Teal’s wife Chrystal Laylis and second was the death of King Heavonos himself.

It was his second son, Helios Quartz that had found his father dead. His heart ripped from his chest by dragon claws. With Dracos being the only one who last saw him, all blame went to him.

Hearing the news King Emerald Teal went into a fit of rage. He called upon his lord Realta, for guidance, but there was no answer, at all. This tore a great hole between the Order Of Harmony. It was ordered that King Dracos be hunted down.

The now King Helios Quartz took it upon himself to hunt down Dracos and kill him. Nothing else mattered. However as for his brother King Emerald Teal. He was suddenly filled with a darker idea of revenge. So dark, all would look back to his choice in shame.

As King Helios hunted down Dracos, King Emerald Teal hunted down all dark alicorns and their followers. Dracos was of darkness, he had taken the dark alicorns under his care long ago. And now as he hid from Helios, Emerald Teal would kill everypony that followed Dracos.

This soon led to the time called the Great Purge Wars. The greatest atrocity of this war, was the extinction of the umbrums. Emerald Teal and Redsting led a massacre across the entire nation of the umbrums. Along the way, it was said that they found his wife, Chrystal Laylis dead among the bodies. However she was carrying a deformed red foal with a teal mane, it had seemed that she had been pregnant when she went missing. Emerald Teal took his new child in and named him, Blood Diamond.

As well as finding his new son, he found Morpheus who had taken a new changeling like form. Morpheus was in league with the umbrums and tried to stop the slaughter. Emerald Teal and Morpheus fought. Morpheus claimed that Emerald Teal was being played by the Corrupted One, but he would not listen. Seeing Emerald Teal stubbornness couldn’t be beat, Morpheus struck at him, stealing the Element of Courage in the process and then escaping.

As Emerald Teal continued his war with the umbrums, his brother Helios was getting closer to finding Dracos. Eventually finding him in a volcano. However there was a problem. Helios’s sister Sapphire Amethyst stood in his way. She pleaded with him to stop his want for vengeance. He told her to stay out of his way. But she couldn’t, she revealed right there that she could not ever abandon Dracos, for she was carrying his child.

Helios became furious with his sister. She not only sided with that dragon, but produce a child with him as well. Going on blind rage, he attacked his sister with his blade, slicing the Element of Kindness from her chest.

Seeing his love being struck down, Dracos attacked the King, breaking his horn. In the end though Helios survived the battle, and had backed them into a corner. However before he could finish it, two creature stood in his way. The mutated Morpheus and a new enemy, Chrysalis. They fought back Helios and all four of them escaped.

Indeed, much had been lost during this time. With them gone, the Order was no more. With them gone, there was now only six Elements of Harmony left. Dracos had took, the Element of Selflessness and the Element of Honor with him. Sapphire still had the Element of Forgiveness. And Morpheus had stole the Element of Courage. As for the Element of Love and the Element of Hope, they had not been found with Chrystal Laylis's remains, though none beyond Emerald Teal were allowed to see her remains.

For all that had been lost, it was decided to try and return some order back to the land. And so the creation of a new kingdom, called Shangri La. A kingdom that would be peace for all.

But as they began searched for peace, they had forgotten about the Corrupted One.

“Everything has gone exactly as planned.”..........................

After five thousand years of peace, a mysterious pair of brothers entered the land. A gargoyle and a centaur.................

Author Notes: I'm sorry to say, but I had to play this like 'Devil's Advocate' on this part of the war anthology. This is because I wanted from the beginning to play it out like how historians would see it. And as one once said 'History is told by the victors.' And this part does not end well......

Separate Side Note: For the one that kept reading from the beginning. Tell me, has a character seemingly gone missing from the War Anthologies, without any explanation?
